No wonder! I was buying something from them just a few minutes ago and I go so frustrated with how slow the site was and just gave up!

Most of them are used, and with shipping CompGeeks is more expensive than the PriceWatch prices for the same processors new -- even if you go down the list on PriceWatch until you find a somewhat reputable seller.

Geeks site seems to be running normally again. I just placed an order for the 1.4 Tbird 200 FSB because I just found out how tough they are to come by. I figure with a 30 day warrantee, I should be fine.

Yes, look at their prices.. most are not that good, especially on the higher models.. You can get close to if not better prices for new CPUs through pricewatch...

Anybody ever heard of the GameEZ transmitter/receiver unit. They also have them for $24. Seems like an easy way to send a signle to the TV from the PC.

Yes the site is friggin slow. By the time I got to the final page to process the order, the item was sold out so I had to go back in and remove it from my cart. It has only taken 1 hour to do this order.

Though in general I like computergeeks, be forewarned they take a long time to get around to shipping your product out. If you dont need your stuff for a week or so, no biggie. If you need it in a couple days go somewhere else

Prices are OK for used parts, I would spend the extra 8-9$ to get a new one myself

Computer Geeks shipped my last order the same day I ordered it, that was about 2-3 weeks ago. So maybe they are getting better?

I ordered a couple of those cool little RC cars that they had for $12.50. The site was ungodly slow last night so I ordered this morning ~8 AM EST. I just checked back and they sold out of ALL the cars! Weird. Anyways, the stuff I ordered this morning has already shipped (FedEx ground) so I guess they have changed since you last ordered. Everything I've ever ordered from Compgeeks has come quick and has worked fine (knock on wood). I agree on the used part though, spend the extra cash and get OEM at least.

6.62 Reseller Ratting....

Not good, not bad. Looks like you shouldn't order barebones from them but components are good... still hot.

You can't use the 10% off coupon on any that are "geek specials" that takes care of all the XP's, MP's, and the better Duron's.

After they sent me a DOA video card and refused to credit my card I had my CC reverse charges on their incompetent arses. Therefore I'm with AAjax spend a tad more to get new item from a better company.

How long of a warranty does it need? If it works for 30 days, it should work for quite a while IMO.

I agree on most of the stuff that you can find at Newegg or any other discount online store, but what about the Athlon 1.4 200 FSB? Can you find me a new one for $8-$9 more? I jumped on it because I just found out how tough they were to come by last night.

BTW.. Computer Geeks isn't that bad. I've had generally good service with them. Much, much better than Overstock.com or Justdeals. Even better luck with these guys than places like SVC and they seem highly rated.

Have you actually run your processor at the +1900 speeds and if not, then where did you hear that this was possible? Also, after looking at the image of this processor (AHL1200AHT3B) on the CompGeek site, I can't tell if the L1 bridges are burned/cut. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

They also have 32 and 64 MB USB pen/thumb drives. 32 is $18 and 64 is $28. Use the F@TWALLET *coughcough* coupon to get 10% off for $16.20 and $25.20 respectively. 64 is a much better deal, $.39/MB whereas the 32 is $.50/MB. Shipping is $, anywhere is the US (I think) either UPS or FedEx. These makes great stocking stuffers! Buy more than 1 and save on shipping.

*shrugs*

Looking for a cheap processor, TCWO has free shipping (geeks appears to be $6). I have a 1.1 Duron from TCWO for $30 even, shipped, on it's way. Geeks looks like $38... Maybe I'm missing something, but - what's the big deal here?

Also, you can look in the back of Maximum PC and there's a half page ad with the 10% off coupon code on it.
