Holy Cow! Proxies are clogged at DNet!

I was looking over the stats for yesterday and everything seems way to low...

So, I checked the proxy status and there was about 40 million blocks backed up! :Q

If anyone seems to be missing blocks, I can pretty much guarantee where they are. The good thing is they should make it through eventually....

JHutch, did you notice that the Fort Lauterdale, Florida proxy is down? It looks like it has over 9 million blocks hung up.

Seems like our Megaflush (DPC) was too much for D.net

I don't know, I think there may be another reason for the slowdown, Marnix! After all, DNet only report 27+ million blocks for yesterday. It is often much, much higher. Plus, the overflow is over 40 million blocks stuck in the proxy systems. I really doubt DPC managed to flush an extra 40 million yesterday!

How can you tell that the d.net proxies are backed up? I went to http://n0cgi.distributed.net/rc5-proxyinfo.html and I can see the column named Buffers. But, there are two numbers. What are they? In/Out? RC5/OGR? Are those the numbers of yet unprocessed blocks?

Yes that is the number of blocks in the in/out buffers of each proxy.

dnets lack of ability to credit people with work is really making me consider switching to SETI, and Im sure this backlog will contribute to the already large number of blocks TA is missing.

I wouldn't be to proud of that fool! if I am loosing blocks because you and your team broke the rules that dnet asked you to fallow Im going to be royalie pissed! I should have 14,000 blocks today and I only have 12,000!

Well, first, let me say unlike Marnix says, this wasn't supposed to be a MegaFlush.

Some DPC'er called Sequence I believe, started a &quot;spread the word&quot;: flush everything you have, so we will surpass TA!!

Well since MF's aren't allowed NE more (well, the REAL deal I mean), subteams, and individuals save up for their private MF, so they show up in de DPC top 10 once in a while.
This will hardly be noticed by D.net usually.

But back to Sequences call: I guess our forum and IRC channel works better then we thought.

At the moment our Crew noticed the clogging of the D.net servers, they started a same &quot;spread the word&quot; as Sequence did, but unfortunatly, it was to late.

Odd enough, when we save for a real MF, the best we can do is 'only' 4 M or so, and this accident turned out at some 9 M.

So please understand, DPC doesn't like the clogging either.

That's called organizing...

I had a few talks with D.net before MF6 and we had agreed we would not flush more then 4 million a day. If we would do the whole thing once, it should be around 20 million.

So, nothing very odd, just organizing.
