The flooding here is horrible... there's trucks literally floating down the street in Shockoe Bottom, and a school bus was covered up to the tops of its windows. Be sure to watch the photos on the news tonight...

I live on the far west end suburbs, not downtown, so you wouldn't see much standing water. We have good drainage here and aren't at the river waterline like they are downtown...

The rain was terrible. There is a creek near my house where water was up to my knees in places; that was over about 30 feet from the creek with the water 10 feet higher than normal probably. Hopefully I can get some video of the creek flowing tomorrow if it is still flowing the same. This was not just standing water it had made a new creek with water that was very hard to walk against. This is in the Woodlake area in Chesterfield County if anyone is near that.

I live in southside, I was lucky I got off work at 2:30pm, my boss got off at 6PM and didn't get home until 11pm.

They shut down a couple of major bridges accross the river, a few are still closed this morning, I had a hard time getting to work on time.

I still have no power at home. Something to do with the power company shut down the grid in my area due to the fear that the dam may burst.

My brother lives in southside off Jahnke Road and he said it was ok where he lives. I think he is about a mile south of the James and some of the houses down at the end of his street were flooded but I guess he got lucky.
