Playing on my cell phone. Pic is a random board, just to show placement.
Word is Quack.

Q is on a double letter, which makes 20.
U = 1
A = 1
C = 3
K = 5

Triple word = 90

Most I can remember getting on a single word.

Nice!
You've probably scored more on a single turn though. Bingo (all 7 letters) for 50 point bonus. Still, 90 by the word alone is very impressive.

I wonder if there's any suitable substitute online so we could arrange an ATOT game?

With the bingo bonus, scores over 100 aren't unusual in Literati.

I don't know what bingo bonus or Literati are.

I think he/she is referring to the use of all 7 of your letters. That's 50 points. And if you use 7, there is a good chance that it is a 50 point word.

Want big time, think about using all 7 letters, and bridging two triple word scores (that a 9 multiple). Never done it or seen it but it can happen.

Using all 7 letters is a 50 point bonus I think, that's the only way I recall scoring that high in one turn. My wife used all of her tiles and was all proud of herself, then I did the same thing on the next turn. :laugh:

Actually the best I have seen is "boycotts" for 203 points. My wife got it when we were playing together. Needless to say that the game was essentially over at that point.

Are both of those words you mentioned using the 50 point bonus?

yup.

"Boycotts" was done using two triple word scores in addition to the bingo.

Except normally when you start Scrabble you have to use the center square for the first word and go out from there so it's much harer to just happen to get the right letters at the right time and in the right place. heh.

Cool.
But this was done without that bonus!
Also, it's one word, meaning I didn't get points for forming more than one word.

QUEZAL may have been my best one, on a triple like yours.

Double triples are always fun.

I hate Scrabble and all words games. But my shining moment is I walked in on a game some friends were playing, looked at the current player's tiles for about 30 seconds and then told him how to play all 7 tiles.

89 and 91 on Literati. They only give you 35 point bonus for using all seven letters though. I used a triple word with a triple letter in there while forming three other words off his.

I have screen caps somewhere...

My wife and I were playing her her sister and husband, so 4 players. My wife goes first and puts down veejay on for a triple word score, it was like 80+ points... and first they challenged the word, then they quit... fvckers, totally stole her thunder.

I used to play on wordbiz... they keep really good track of things... make sure you evenly pair... do some rankings... and you have to be accepted as a member.... Keeps the 12 year old kids and other riffraff out.
