Holy crap, I've spent $428 on food so far this month!

For only two people... and there's still almost two weeks left. No more meat or ice cream for us, we're going to be going on the "all ramen and PBJ" diet.

I could see it... I tried to push down my budget to $250/month (I'm single). Now if I actually bought everything I wanted to buy (soda... soda.. more soda... candy... tons of frozen dinners) I think I can hit $428

eat at good restaurants and that's only 10 trips for 2 people

eat at okay restaurants and that's 20 trips for 2 people

eat at crappy restaurants and that's 42 trips for 2 people

Actually, for two people.. it isn't *that* far off.. I spent about 70-100$ a week on groceries for myself when I was working.

My girlfriend and I are below $150 in groceries for the month so far and we've been eating pretty well. I've got a slew of good dinners we can can cook up that will feed both of us for under $5.

I'm making lasagne for 10 people coming over for football tomorrow and the ingredients only cost $15. You guys need to learn how to cook and shop.

Family of 5, we spend less than $400/month including fast food, cleaning supplies, paper goods, etc. I can't imagine spending more than that for just 2 people.

I mean yeah, I could eat well over $500 in two weeks in groceries. Shopping at one of the upscale grocery stores and not buying in bulk I could......buy ALL bottled water, eat crab and steak everyday, not save any left overs, etc.
