I have been in the fracking industry for 16 years now and this is really scarey to me on a personal level. Thankfully most of our work has been transferred to China which would never engage in this idiocy, but still this is going to have a strong negative impact on our company.

The fracking scare is one of the biggest farces the eco-nuts have going. That gas land movie has been entirely debunked, he even used false documentation. But everyone is still scared. Fracking has been used for decades and in other forms. In Uranium mining its used in in-situ leaching. I don't think people understand that the fracking takes place huge distances between any ground water locations. Its like being scared that the pilot light on your water heater could blow up the gas in your car.

Well... NY oil production has been around 26K barrels per month with a value of $1.5 million.

Texas by comparison is doing around 100M barrels per month, or about 3850x what NY is producing.
