People just love pointing fingers. But I do agree that the OP is really horrifying, though it is a repost. Couldn't eat for a day myself after seeing those pics and i'm from India. Go figure.

A guy who told me about his trip to India said it's the filthiest place he's been and he's been to 20 countries or so.

Some of those rotting corpse pics are so over the top I wonder if they are pulled from different locations or something, but maybe they are legit.

India is hugely disparate in wealth and many hundreds of millions live in total squalor, like you see in the pics. It's kind of amazing in 2012 anybody still lives like that, though; poor or rich you should have a culture smart enough to not let animals decay in the water from which you drink and survive.

Some have espoused how reliant on plumbing our current society is, and I agree. Next time you're on the toilet in your air conditioned room and you flush and it just magically disappears, the only remains of it a minute or two of stink (which can be exhausted with the van), you should appreciate the plumbers in your life.
