Some of you people are probably sitting there chomping down on a Big Mac as you post, "You hunters are nothing more than uncivilized cave men!" You fail to see your own hypocracy.
Killing animals so you can have a trophy on your wall and eating animals already dead for subsistence are 2 different things. While true, you don't need meat to survive, you also don't need beer, cigarettes, video games, tv, computers yet you still use them.
God, some of you people are such namby pambys. I would have shot that bear in a heartbeat if I was bear hunting and saw it, and if I wasn't bear hunting, and it got close enough to harm me, BAM, I would have kept shootin till I ran out of cartridges. And if you read that hunting board, its obvious that these guys had a liscense.
This ha given me "paws" to reflect. This is not upsetting the natural order of things. This is the natural order of things. Did you ever see a bear in a BMW. Get over it. Humans 1 Bears 0. We won.

I think that is unfortunate. I hate to see such an animal get killed. I am just impressed by something that size. Hope it was able to reproduce before it got killed.
I don't mind people hunting in principle but I really can't stand it when you see people hunting birds and just blowing dozens of them out of the sky. I mean, come on, what are you going to do with 100's of dead geese? Whole flocks just blown away.

Those numbers are erroneous and was a guesstimate by someone looking at the picture. By the own hunter's admission the bear was only about 10 feet tall and about a thousand pounds. Also, he did not empty his gun into him..he dropped him with one shot to the face going into the nasal cavity. After it fell than he finished it with 2 fatal shots to vital areas.
