i have checked out prices at tirerack, costco, firestone, discount tire, Big O, peerless and the and the prices i am seeing im looking at $155.00 per tire.... holy shit! plus add in the installation and tire disposal fee its bloody expensive to get new tires now.

the last time i bought a set was about 4 years ago and i paid about 90 bucks per tire. and i got premium firestone all season tires.

Just remember, Costco prices include installation and lifetime rotation without charging you. I got all 4 tires replaced at Costco when they had the Michelin sale. Expensive, but worth it.

For online order, you're looking at tagging on shipping costs and installation fee, which can come out to an additional $150 on top of what you're paying for the tires alone.

The same stock tires on my car have always gone for $255+ new from just about everywhere. Of course I didn't stick with stock after the first few sets and have picked up slightly cheaper alternatives. Shelling out over a grand every year or so for a set of tires was getting a bit annoying.

Costco/Sams often have ~$70 off rebates on Michelins, etc.
Installation, lifetime rotation included. It is not that bad really.

I have done 2 vehicles this year. Costco was cheaper, BUT only when they had the same deal going as they do right now. They have the $70 off and $30 off the installation on Bridgestone. I also get the feeling I get a shitty deal on my truck tires being a not so common size. 195/70/14, best I found at the time was $53 per tire.

Meh, you can pay that much for a standard P195 R15 set here. Think I spent about $450 outfitting my Civic last year. Tires are one of the things Canadians are massively gouged on. Best to buy them in Buffalo. Don't even have to pay duty on them because who's going to check. Wish I had thought of that before.

Take them to wal-mart to install. Wal-mart is the cheapest place I know of to install.

I have always found that Tire Rack shipping kills any savings. Also, Walmart will only install tires that are on the list of approved for the vehicle.

The tire I linked to is the factory size the OP stated, wal-mart will install.

The only time wal-mart would not install a tire was when it was differant size. So I just took the wheel off and had them put it on the wheel, and I put the wheel on the car.

They sell Kumho on their website, so yeah it should be fine. I checked them for tires and even though they had a cheaper tire, they wouldn't install it on my truck cause it wasn't approved for it, even though it was the same size. I just went someplace else, not about to remove my wheels and go through the hassle when I can drive in and drive out at other places.

Walmart will only install tires that are on the list of approved for the vehicle.

side note:: i went to costco a couple of years ago to get my snow tires put on my camry. they refused because i did not buy my snow tires from Costco and he stated some stupid ass store safety regulation about used tires... . well after arguing with the stupid shop manager i finally just said call you your boss. he did and the matter was quickly resolved and they installed my tires. if the store manager did not resolve it i was going tear up my costco card in front of them and take my car and tires right across the street to sears have have them do it. seriously wtf that was the lamest crap i have ever experienced at costco and i was PAYING for it, jesus im giving you money to put swap my tires out, so WTF is the god damn problem!

Big O cost is all inclusive.

And they have no problem backing the warranty.

2 years ago, picked up a set or 4 in Iowa for winter use.
Returned to Denver area in April; bought a set of road tires from Big O.
Nov last year right before the Oct/Nov snows showed up, I put back on the winter tires - no charge.
Blew a tire bead here in Philly last month. Destroyed my TPS.
No Big O out here ; they shipped the proper tire in from Indiana overnight and reimbursed me for installation fees and a new TPS.

Tire was $150 originally; Shipping was $25 and TPS another $50 + $25 installation/mounting..

So why are you complaining about the cost of a $155 tire when you said the $105 one is shit? It's like complaining about a $15 burger at a restaurant because you can get one at McDonalds (shit) for $2.99. Besides, it's going onto a fucking Toyota Sienna...not a Corvette.

Sure the Kumho treadlife is probably a good 20K shorter...it's simple math to figure out if it's worth it or not.
