knoppix is your friend

runs off a cd, usb drive, etc no need to install something on the system. We have used this in our labs to recover data off of drives before with much success.

theres bound to be other people with the same files. Data loss is sad but you've taken it to a new level. take a few steps back and realize its not that big of a deal. these are tv shows? there are a million copies int he world. its not like you lost all you creative stuff like neat pics u made or unreal maps or special text files with secrets.
