I ordered something that is only available online in my area from them on Tuesday and the status is still 'being processed', which seems odd to me for such a long time.

Has anyone else ordered from home depot and experienced the same thing?

It states on the website that processing time can be as long as 3 days.

I ordered a toolbox from them a couple of months ago and didn't get any updates on their order tracking page until it was already out for delivery, about a week later.

I ended up calling them and found out the bank had rejected the charge because it was not in the purchase pattern on that card. On something like that, it would have been nice to get an update as soon it it was rejected so the problem could be rectified faster. Looks like they need to update their processing system for more frequent updates and where the purchase is in the process. I'm not sure I will ever order online again from them after this.

No more oil changes and having to get gas before I mow. The only place I can find this particular mower is Home Depot.

I had a total run around from them, trying to order a stand alone AC unit a few years back.

I ordered the unit, got confirmation it was ordered and shipping. Then got a call from them, saying they were canceling the order because they were currently out of stock on it. Yet when I placed the order it said it checked, and it was in stock. I told them to create a new order, and just ship it when they got more stock in.

So they refunded me the money I hadn't payed yet from the first order, and created a new order. 2 months later they send out a message saying your 2 AC units are on the way. I call up and let them know that I only ordered one, they go back and look, oh yeah that order was canceled. So they refund me for the canceled order a second time.

For delivery they hand it off to some third party company, that you had to call a toll number for, enter your order#, and it would try and forward you to the delivery department. It would fail to transfer you, and just drop the call. This happened every other day for 2 weeks.

I finally called home depot, told them their shipping company wasn't doing their job. They call me back 2 weeks later, and apologized, and say they'll refund me the shipping cost of the 2 AC units I have coming to me.

Once again we go through the cancel one of the units routine, where they refund me for something I haven't actually been charged for yet.

Finally 4 weeks later they deliver a single AC unit to my door. And I get charged just for a single unit with free shipping.

By this time the weather I had been trying to get a new AC unit for was gone, and it was fall/winter.

But I got the unit for free + a 2Xrefund.

Ditto.

Ordered some special hinges. It took them about 3 days to take my order and put it in a box. I will never order from then again online

Cuular beat my best story.

Best Buy .... ordered soemthign for in store pickup. Site says within an huor. Get there 3 hours later (had no acces to e-mail) expecting it to be ready. They said t wasn't ready and were shocked that I came in without a confirmation e-mail. They were flabergasted that I figured that the site said within and hour and that 3 hours should be plenty of time. The good part is that the special deal I got in on included a free $20 gift card. Due to the idiocity of Best Buy, they cancled my order and I just grabbed the stuff at the store and checked out. Several days later, I got the $20 gift card in the mail.

CLIFF NOTES: Best Buy inventory mangement sucks. Got free $20 gift card due to processing "issue"

I ordered an 8 inch digital caliper from Home Depot online.
Got a call a few days later, some guy at the warehouse says they're out of 8 inch calipers, and will replace it with a 12 inch caliper. I said that's awesome.

Then I get the 8 inch caliper... felt disappointed.

HD stores would be a good place to start a lumber yard/hardware store. Actually same for Lowes, but I think they are ever so slightly better.

HDs in my area, and I have easy access to 3 or 4, have stock that is so picked over and/or returned (with incompletes) that I rarely find what I need in the store. Visits to these stores require preplanning and backup plans.

How does Home Depot Handle billing? The mower I ordered was shipped yesterday and and when I checked the card this morning the charge was removed and when I checked their site for the order, the charge has increased the $6. are they waiting for me to receive the merchandise before I get the bill or what?

They didn't charge my card for my AC unit until it shipped, and the shipper notified them I had received it. That's what makes my case so weird. Because every time they canceled the order and recreated it, they would credit me as if they had charged me.

So far they have never hit me with the 3 charges that would end up with me as having actually paid them money. And it's been 6 years or so.
