I had a total run around from them, trying to order a stand alone AC unit a few years back.
I ordered the unit, got confirmation it was ordered and shipping. Then got a call from them, saying they were canceling the order because they were currently out of stock on it. Yet when I placed the order it said it checked, and it was in stock. I told them to create a new order, and just ship it when they got more stock in.
So they refunded me the money I hadn't payed yet from the first order, and created a new order. 2 months later they send out a message saying your 2 AC units are on the way. I call up and let them know that I only ordered one, they go back and look, oh yeah that order was canceled. So they refund me for the canceled order a second time.
For delivery they hand it off to some third party company, that you had to call a toll number for, enter your order#, and it would try and forward you to the delivery department. It would fail to transfer you, and just drop the call. This happened every other day for 2 weeks.
I finally called home depot, told them their shipping company wasn't doing their job. They call me back 2 weeks later, and apologized, and say they'll refund me the shipping cost of the 2 AC units I have coming to me.
Once again we go through the cancel one of the units routine, where they refund me for something I haven't actually been charged for yet.
Finally 4 weeks later they deliver a single AC unit to my door. And I get charged just for a single unit with free shipping.
By this time the weather I had been trying to get a new AC unit for was gone, and it was fall/winter.
But I got the unit for free + a 2Xrefund.
