So she manages to get it a punch or two, think that will back him off? then he probably would have stabbed her, she's just not capable of doing much against him (unless she had self-defense training)..

I don't know. She was so clearly over matched that provoking him further could only have resulted in a more severe beating. If there wasn't a child there I might say she could fight back to try to create an opportunity to escape, but I doubt leaving the child there with him was an option for her.

I have a crow bar I leave in a central location in case this was to happen, but seeing this definitely puts some perspective into just how fast it can happen and have zero time to react. Scary stuff. Thankfully this stuff does not actually happen here though. There was a rumor of it happening in one part of town but think it turned out to be just that, a rumor. There's lot of B&E's though which is scary. Does make me wonder how long it will take till they are bold enough to start actual invasions to a home with people in it. There's also nothing that stops these psychos from making improvised explosives and using them as part of their invasion tactics to harm people enough so it's easier to kill them when they barge in.

I would have picked up the tv, and knocked him in the head with it, then finish him off with the broken pieces. It's worth buying a new TV to met out a little justice. That TV was easily big enough to hit him with it, and it certainly would have blocked his attacks. But it's not so big she couldn't have grabbed it in a pinch.
