WHOAAAAA. Thats gonna sound amazing.

Probably an easy 800hp on low boost.

EDIT: Geeeze, that thing is HUGE. How wide is that??
And wouldn't lubrication be an issue with the heads sideways like that... hes probably thought about all this.

It is possible to trial and error it based on valve timings but, even if you get it perfect, there's going to be natural harmonics. Maybe there's an app for it.

That straight-6 is naturally balanced. I don't know what mounting two of them at what looks like 120 degrees does to that, though. I'm surprised that he didn't go for 90 degrees or a boxer configuration.

As is it probably won't fit in to almost everything. Making it even wider would make it fit in to even fewer things.....

Do you mind private messaging me?

I found this thread looking for more info on that engine build and would like to ask some questions.

FYI a I6 and V12 crank are identical. The only difference is pairs of pistons share the journals and of course it's longer by 6 connecting rod widths.

A V12 is literally two I6s with pistons sharing rod journals on the exact same crank layout.

First time I've seen a block made from a custom weldment. My initial impression is that they better be damn good welds.

This is an amazing project and I can't wait to see the progress.

How long has your Uncle been working on it?
What type of ECU does he plan on using?
Are those 1JZ heads or has he done something custom to them?
How much power is he looking to get out of this?

Keep the pictures coming.

If you're in the Twin Cities I'm sure we can swing by his house/shop.... I'm not sure on the crank 100%, but I know his last project (a 31' Buick) he did everything but paint himself, so my guess is yes. I should be swinging by his place again this weekend, I'll see what progress he's made. .... this is sort of his back burner project. He is working on a few other things at the moment too (dual flathead dragster and his 31' buick)

now i want to meet him and his car and engine. but nice work. how does he get the pistons to work. do the piston rods not have to be much longer since the crank is likely much lower than before. and would he not have to offset the two engines from each other

flat or boxer would have been sweet. straight 6 or a v 12 are balanced both primarily and secondarily

Is the crank billet? Similar to this?

most likely. given the likely cost for this it would make sense as well as to have as much strength and balance for a engine as huge and powerful as this. what is the total engine size
