Correct, just offset for the "opposite" angle to fire properly with the other I6.The crank would have the same angles as an I6 right? Otherwise you wouldn't get the I6 balance

If you're in the Twin Cities I'm sure we can swing by his house/shop.... I'm not sure on the crank 100%, but I know his last project (a 31' Buick) he did everything but paint himself, so my guess is yes.
I should be swinging by his place again this weekend, I'll see what progress he's made.
.... this is sort of his back burner project. He is working on a few other things at the moment too (dual flathead dragster and his 31' buick)
LOLThat sucker should make what... 800HP?
Don't you mean crankcase, not block?First time I've seen a block made from a custom weldment. My initial impression is that they better be damn good welds.
I'm sure that all the parts were CNC milled. That way, it would be fairly easy to put in accurate locating points like dowel holes, slots, etc. to keep everything square.Interesting choice to weld the crank-case elements together. I look forward to reading more.
LOL
What do 600HP Supras and 800HP Supras have in common?

I wonder if the higher strength of the steel used makes up for potential under-penetration of the welds.
6. Put the exhaust ports to the center just for giggles.
If he was using a single turbo, sure. But with two turbos, you can get away with splitting your exhausts into at least two collectors.Sure makes me giggle!
In a turbo application, it might not be so bad to have the exhaust coming out the top at all.
Would it be ok to use the photos and information to write an article?
Closer inspection on my part reveals no such locating features... I wonder what kind of jig was used to keep everything aligned. You have far more faith than I do!
