Hello,
I am trying to set up a home network. I want to do this so i can enable file sharing between the main computers, as well as (more importantly) printer sharing. As well on my current computer ( a macbook pro , tiger OS X) I am trying to set up apache. I am haveing trouble getting all the settings right for printing sharing and apache. I got my network to only give out specific ip adresses which is good. I then set up my mom's Windows XP machine to 192.168.2.101 and mine is 192.168.2.100. That seeemed to work but now neither can log into the router. As well i got apache to work internally but noone outside of the network can see it even though i port forwarded port 80 for my computer. For printer sharing i have gotten it to see my mom's compouter (the printer is installed on my mom's compouter and i want everyone to be able to use it) but when i put in the username nad password of her login it does not show the printer and i'm not sure why. I don't really need the static ip's but for apache and filesharing i wasn't sure if i needed that so i didn't have to keep changing where it was looking to see the files or the website. If don't need static ip's and there are ways around it that 'd be great. The computers in the house (mainly) are a mac nad a PC. And we have a dsl modem and a wireless router (usually i have my coputer wireless and my mom's but occasionally i will wire it). Any help is appreciated, i'm so confused at this point.
I know this is probably annoying to help me but it would be appreciated
