try Simply Accounting. It isn't the best, but it works and it's cheap. You may have to fiddle with the report writer to get the checks to print out correctly.

And why do you need a business license? Are you in city limits?

Do you belong to a homeowner's association? If so, check your deed restrictions on home businesses.

I basically switched to corp 2 corp from W2 and thus formed a corporation.
I just have my apartment address as the address for the corporation and some one told me that I need a home office permit. So thats the reason I was asking.

I looked into zpay for payroll solutions. Can I just maintain a simple excel sheet for expenses or do I need a software ?

I guess it's a matter of your city ordinances. What are you going to be doing that will require it?

You can use pencil and paper if you want. I'm not familiar with zpay. Are you going to have employees?

I'm not sure why you started a corp other than shielding you from certain liabilities. You could have done the same with an LLC. Shouldn't matter too much, though.

I will be just providing Computer Consulting for now. I incorporated because of liabilities and certain business ventures that I might get into in future so I just incorporated.

I'll use spreadsheets for now and later upgrade if neccessary.
