After vowing to quit watching, I stayed with it and am glad I have. It's the first season for me so I have no real idea what Brody is all about at this point. I imagine time will tell.

What makes Saul think the Iranian dude will continue to be a mole for the cia after the ruler is ousted? didn't the threat of exposing his embezzlement of the 45mm no longer matter?

I think at that point Saul can prove who put him in power. While embezzlement won't matter conspiring with your enemies will always get you killed.. of course that may be to logical for this show and it'll be something along the lines of how everyone suddenly knew Carrie wasn't burned anymore, including civilians out in the world.

Amazing episode yesterday. Loved the infiltration and going back and forth between that and their little war room. Very cool.

Good episode I guess, since Brody came back it's lost some momentum IMO, don't understand how the drone couldn't see an army of Iranians moving in around them until the lights came on though, I believe it was back up and running for a good bit at that point. BTW, how does a drone "crash" and need to be reset? Then they play it off like "these things happen, no big deal" ehhh OK sweetheart lol, this show sometimes.... it hardly ever reaches 24-territory in believably but occasionally it will make me compare.

It didn't physically crash, they just had a software issue. I'm sure that happens.

Agree on the drone not seeing that big group though, kind of strange. However not really a big deal, to me anyway.

Liked it, it was a nailbiter.. but very unrealistic. The truck blew off into two and yet he was totally unharmed while the other dude looses leg... They were still in Iraq but the Iranians showed up. The 2nd guy who accompanies him was destined to die the very moment he crawled behind the barrel, I was a given he will die sooner or later, VERY predictable. Why is Brody freaking out so much...
But all in all, it was a unparalleled episode, very good, but not sure if it belonged in Homeland.

I guess you guys have different expectations of the show. I don't really expect it to be all that realistic; it's a pulp, spy-action show. /shrug

It's been so much better now that the stupid dana storyline is done.

I certainly hope so, it was good for a while, just to show how much the family suffered, but I sincerely hope they do not bring it back.

The iranian Intel dude will facilitate his escape and then take over the government.

Brody's redemption is fullfilled. No more good story for season 4.

He said Brody's escape was optional, and he doesn't seem like the type to keep loose ends hanging around, especially those that could get him killed by talking.

just saw the finale.

i have mixed feelings about it.

Too predictable? I thought it was good closure, but no cliff hanger, not even the slightest hint of one (well, maybe other than the wah wah baby stuff nobody cares about), made it feel like a series finale. Maybe it was and I'm just clueless.

Predictable but good closure..."he doesn't seem like the type to keep loose ends hanging around" and to safeguard his own
Brody has to go.

I haven't been a fan of this season at all, as one would gather from my comments in this thread. I've only really watched it because the woman likes it and I make her watch a ton of crappy stuff. Having said that I did like that they finally put to rest a major part of the storyline. I personally felt that storyline dragged down the show and made it's characters do unbelievable stuff for it. I also will say after they put that to rest, man did it drag out. The last 10-15 mins dragged out so bad I was hoping something would happen.
Instead I got a soap opera where almost everyone had a happy ending. I'm pretty sure only Brody didn't get one.
I had to look online to see if this was the end of the series but according to the website it's back next year. I can only hope that it's a whole new cast, but my luck with this show next year will be Dana becoming a spy in some stupid attempt to restore her father's honor.

My understanding is the head writer/showrunner from the first season will be returning next year, so they probably did not want to leave too many crazy loose ends, hence the rather understated (even kind of boring) ending to the final episode. Was pretty confident they were going to off Brody for a while there; it kind of had to happen. Not sure where else you could go with that character.

It will be interesting to see where it goes next year. I actually enjoyed most of this season aside from the first couple of episodes and the latter half of this finale.
