I found all of the stuff with Carrie and the Iranian guy interesting, plus I still find absolutely anything with Saul interesting. The whole CIA changeover thing could be interesting too.

I can live without the Brody-baby crap though...

Last episode was not bad at all.

At least things are going somewhere, unlike the first part of this season.

Dana needs to run off and never been seen again, agreed.
But then we'd have no reason to see Morena Baccarin...

I've liked the past two episodes. Probably because there has been no Dana/Brody family. Regardless, it's been a lot more fun to watch and while I had somewhat expected Saul to be the mastermind behind the group holding Brody, it was nice to see it happen and be done in a decent way.

Also Carrie being shot by Quinn was fantastic. I thought she was going to get away with pulling her shit yet again.

Had to have been, nothing else makes sense. It's nice to see someone knows how to use spoiler tags. I certainly didn't see the ending of the episode coming, but looking back probably should have.

Even before that scene it struck me - why is the wife of the CIA director having an affair while her husband is dealing with Iranian terrorists? We've seen a real-life CIA director forced out of his job due to an affair.

I think they just needed to keep some kind of a story-line going for the characters until Brody gets back. It would have been strange if they don't have anything involving Brody's family until the end of the season when he's back in town. I'm sure Dana will continue to suffer from the psychological impact of her dad being involved in terrorism, but I can't see there being much more to that story-line than that.

It's weird though, a lot of the reviewers I read/listen to keep shitting on the show. Not sure why, I am really enjoying it now. First couple of episodes were definitely a slog, but it's definitely way better now.

Season two had a number of silly bad episodes, and this season started off poorly, but the last four or five episodes have been much better. I'm hoping that streak won't be ruined now that Brody is back in the picture.

I agree - Homeland is picking up the pace nicely, and with not-too-many plot holes. Not to diss any other show, but it's funny when a reviewer praises a zombie show and then trashes Homeland for being unrealistic.
I mean, it's always possible to enjoy a show despite it being not too authentic to life. After all, that would be boring D:!

Mira taking a lover was a surprise, and then he was a surprise. I'd think in today's world, the top echelons of CIA must have surveillance all around them?

I'm just conjecturing now, but maybe Brody'll return and become part of Saul's machinery in deceiving the other side?

I do think it's greatly improved over the last few episodes (and I was very close to dropping it earlier this season). It's still galling to me that this show won all those Emmies just a couple of years ago, when it's now clear it's basically like a slower version of one of the late, mediocre seasons of 24.
