I thought the finale was good, not great. It's kinda cool that the series can basically do a reset - probably better off for the show rather than keep trying to find ways to keep the current storyline going. I felt like the last 20 minutes or so was more or less filler... almost like next season could have picked up at the '4 months later' part and start re-introducing where everyone is.

Anyway, they did enough to keep me interested for Season 4.

Could be interesting having Carrie in the CIA and Saul as an independent contractor, or whatever he is doing. I assume they will use more of Quinn too, which is fine by me.

Are we guessing the Brody family is done now, or will they get roped back in when they hear they have a half-sibling now?

Seriously?

Yup. Saw it on another news site.

With Sal out of the CIA, Carrie off to Istanbul and Brodie dead, I just wonder where the series is going next year. I imagine it will have to be centered around the guy they got into power in Iran?

Man, that's the best news I've heard about this show yet..

My hope is they start from scratch and reboot with a completely different cast. Carrie is a idiot that constantly makes the worst decisions ever and now that Saul is gone I can't see her surviving long as no one will cover/fix her mistakes. My other guess would be they're going move away from the middle east into a more PC friendly bad guy, think white European guys.

I have, for a long time, hoped they pivoted the show to focus more on Quinn. One could easily imagine them creating some drama about Carrie being in peril in Turkey and him coming to the rescue.

I know the show requires a lot of suspension of disbelief, but I don't see how in hell they could take the same agent who was so thoroughly humiliated before Congress and the entire United States (for being crazy and having a love affair with a known terrorist) and make her the youngest bureau chief in CIA history. I guess the idea is that they can rehabilitate Brody's image by saying his entire terrorist reputation was always a long-game cover story?

Not a bad way for Brody to go out. I wonder whether they really hang people that way in Iran? It seems exceptionally cruel in that he just slowly choked to death rather than falling and having his neck broken, like in a traditional hanging.

Yeah, I wondered that about the hanging as well. Talk about slow, painful, and humiliating. The spit in the face was a nice touch too.

At the end of the episode, when the ceremony at the CIA finished up and Carrie was asked to go to a conference room because they had a situation going on, I honestly thought that she was going to walk into the room to find Brody alive and well. It would be completely ridiculous if they pulled off that kind of a stunt with him hanging from a crane, but I wasn't that impressed with the writers in season 3 so I wouldn't have been surprised.

I'm wondering if they'll be able to revitalize the show in season 4. I hope they do, and we get at least another 2 seasons with some new storylines...otherwise they might as well have stopped at the end of season 3.

I won't believe anyone is dead until we see the ending to season 4, episode 12. Hangings can be faked,

I didn't love the finale. I don't really like Carrie's character. Saul and Brody make the show and now 1 is retired and the other is "dead." They'll probably have Quinn take over a part of each of their roles (rein in Carrie and be her love interest), but they'll really need to flesh him out.

I find it ridiculous that Javadi can avoid suspicion while meeting with a white woman in Tehran multiple times and instructing his several dozen men to pick up Brody (the man who just murdered his boss) while leaving Carrie untouched. It would be painfully obvious in the real world that he's working with the CIA and entirely too many people know about it.

I am happy that Brody's family won't be a focus anymore. Now that the season is over and nothing was really made of their earlier appearances, it seems even more pointless. We could have had an extra 2 or 3 episodes of real action/drama content instead of a bunch of melodrama about people who have no impact on the actual plot.

I'll still be watching next season, but right now I'm thinking this should have been the series finale. Pretty much every character has closed out their story arcs and completed some type of development. Next season will have to either be a reboot or way over-the-top writing that brings Brody back to life and/or pulls Saul out of retirement.

Yeah i'm thinking season 4 will have to be centered around the iranian asset + carrie in turkey. She'll probably pull saul in for support. maybe the asset gets TOO much power becomes above the law or something.

I liked the finale.

They really did wrap things up.
This very well could have been the shows end and i'd be okay with that.

Far better than most shows endings.

Not sure where they will go with things in the next season, as it'll likely be a completely different setting.

I liked the finale, but was not a fan of it, they cut too many strings, wont be the same again. Might as well have ended the series. Before watching I read about it and people talked a lot about how gut wrenching and sad it was, but I didn't find it that emotionally disturbing, I just didn't like the story line. Even is they bring back saul it wont be the same, for me its over.

I was a bit surprised after Brody's death because I thought they would close his story line with full redemption by telling Dana and Jessica that he was never the CIA bomber and that he redeemed himself by actually killing Akbari. I figured that would be the case because they made such a big deal of him going to see Dana before he left for the mission. Otherwise, why bother with finding her in the first place then unless it was just to make the Brody character even more pitiable. If that's the case then his death was even more tragic.

I don't see where they're going to go next season with these characters. Saul is gone and I really don't want to watch how a station chief's life is made more difficult by the addition of a baby.

Saul most certainly will not be gone and I am hoping Quinn takes a bigger role

"But for those of you worried about Saul's future on the show, rest easy. It's been confirmed in numerous interviews that Mandy Patinkin will remain front and center on the show in Season 4.
"Everybody should rest assured that Mandy Patinkin is coming back as a series regular," showrunner Alex Gansa tells EW. "I can tell you that with 100 percent certainty. Although he's not at a desk at Langley anymore, the CIA does outsource a lot of jobs to private contractors. He's going to be in that circle, he's still in the intelligence-gathering profession and the CIA could use somebody of his immense skills and knowledge for various intelligence work.""

Anyone watch the Season 3 episodes yet? Peter Russo (from HoC) is in the show now... lol

not for long lol

Anyways I skipped the majority of season 2 and all of season 3 but watched the premiere of season 4. It feels like I didn't miss a thing and it's pretty interesting now.

I hated the Brody storyline and felt he should of blew up in that bunker.
