im not reading shit in this thread yet because i have 3 episodes left, but man this show is amazing. really awesome show so far. will chime in when i'm done.

Thats why.

The last 3 episodes are each worse than the last, culminating in epic fail.

At least in the opinion of everyone I know who has watched the show.

Tell that to 24 which made taking out Air Force One, the attempt and assassination of a former president and government officials an amazing setup for the show.

Well, 24 had how many seasons of epic terrorism in the US that was even more unbelievable each time and then was saved by a single man. If I remember correctly wasn't he poisoned, addicted to drugs, radiated, beaten, tortured and so on? I did enjoy 24 and it was nothing more than an all out action show. Homeland was much more plausible and in line with reality where we have a great terrorist type event every 10 years that changes the shape of the world. If Homeland becomes another 24, then I will be sorely disappointed.

Question that remains: who's the mole that tipped off the trust fund white chick and the arab professor?

I believe it is Saul Berenson:
- he failed the first lie detector test
- he reported Claire to the feds at the end of the finale to prevent her from entering the building and possibly, spoiling the assassination attempt.

what kind of laptop they used in Homeland? They have the windows logo. It had a feel of 24, like Brody as Jack, and Carrie as Chloe minus the multiple angle shots.

I hung in there for the whole season, but they'd better hire some better writers for SE2. Waaaaay too many plot devices used that would never really have gone down.

And what a great event it could of been for that vest to go off.

really liked the show, although i wish they had ended the season with Brody killing himself. i think it would have made for a better ending in general, was kind of corny/cheesy the way it ended, but i still enjoyed it a lot.

the actress who plays carrie needs to win an award. she was fucking awesome. i genuinely felt really bad for her after she got f'ed up from that bomb then spiraled down. and then at the very end when she was getting her treatment ... i just felt so bad for her, like a real feeling. it was odd lol.

and the scene where brody is in the safe room ... one of the most tense scenes i've ever watched in a show. very well done.

oh yea, and reading this thread with spoiler tags is fucking annoying.

was anyone else actually hoping that the vest went off? I was thinking season 2 could be about Carrie getting back into the agency, since she was right about the whole thing - and them going after Abu Nazir

Still enjoyed it

My prediction:
-Carrie struggles to remember that illusive critical clue. She knows its important but just can't quite grasp it
-Brody struggles to match his family life with his need to change policy
-I think finding the leak is the next big plot. Brody is about to do something big but they eventually find the leak (Saul?) and another crisis is averted by Carrie which gets her back into the CIA.
-Somehow justice is done to the VP*
-Brody's family and him seeing justice done to the VP turns him and he helps go after Nazir*

*Part of season 2 or 3 depending on series fanbase/renewal

I have never been so freaked out watching any tv show, when he was about to go boom, holy shit that's some intense acting

At first I thought there was no way he could bluff his reaction in real life but the 'I don't like being locked up' was pretty good. Very intense

- he reported Claire to the feds at the end of the finale to prevent her from entering the building and possibly, spoiling the assassination attempt.

Ahh didn't think of that last part. Good thought

Just watched Season 1 over the last two days... I initially got hooked fast, but my interest dropped near the last few eps, and I kind of just finished it so I don't lose the time invested watching the first ~10 episodes.

Not sure if I will pick it up for Season 2 (if there is one)

Although yes, that acting in the lock down room by Brody was pretty intense...

Just finished the finale last night. I loved the show up until the last few episodes; I think I struggled with Carrie breaking down, since her and Saul (and Vince) are by far my favourite thing in the show. Seeing her beaten down like that, while Brody continued to do his thing, was frustrating. Honestly if the bomb would have gone off it would have made this a truly outstanding season of TV, but as it is, it just feels like it is going to be another season of frustration next year.

I will start season 2, but I'm concerned about where they are going to take things. It's hard for me to imagine them being able to gracefully write themselves out of some of the corners they are painted in. Fortunately Carrie/Saul/Vince are enough to bring me back for at least the first few episodes and I will just hope I am wrong on the writing.

I enjoyed the first half of season 1, but I never did watch the last 2 or 3 episodes. It got way too annoying. Carrie's emotional problems and demeanor were far too unrealistic for a women in her position. She is supposed to be CIA, at the top of her game, pursuing a huge threat to the US, and she acts like a 17 year old high school girl most of the time.

I might finish it up and start season 2 if I hear it is good.

Well, it's tough because she did fall in love with Brody and couple that with slipping into mania AND still trying to uncover the truth about Brody and Abu-Nazir (plus almost being blown-up doesn't help). Balancing all of that could drive anyone over the edge. I actually felt like it was kind of bubbling under the surface all season and it was the culmination of all those things that finally made her blow.

Maybe because she is bipolar?
