OD has the Linksys homelink network kit for $29.88. OM has it for $89.98 After the LPG at OM, it comes out free. Although my OM store manager only gave me store credit on a gift card. I got 2 of them for around $60 and got a gift card from them for $55 (the max they would give me on a LPG)

I saw the deal in OD. They have no sale flyer this week due to the 4th of July holiday, not alot of people shopping this weekend. OD lowered their price from $89.98 to $49.99. On top of that they are running a special on the item for $29.88. I guess it is an store special. When I did this deal, the OM manager sent an employee over to OD to check for himself on the price, he didn't believe the girl at OD when he called there.

ummm, one thing...are tehse the 10mbs phoneline kit, or the 1 mbs linekit...i think u might have just got lucky with a stupid OM employee....

Nope they are 29.88 at mine too I called them went to my local office max but they wouldn't do it without a ad in hand.

You could just buy the product at full price and wait a half hour later and come back saying that they have it for X amount of dollars at OD.. and if they wont give it to you, say yuo want to return the product (which is a hassle, especially if you opened it)

I just tried it, I went to OD and bought two boxes and went to OM and asked for the LPG. Apparently, the kits are on clearance at OD and because of that, OM wouldn't match it. Your mileage may vary.

you know at this point, pricematches with OD or OM really aren't such hot deals 'cause most of the managers don't even go thru with their own policy...last time i successfully pulled off a pricematch was with the wintv USB...if y'all can get the pricematch, more power to ya! but most of the managers are pricks...

I called and they said that that sale was last wekk .This week it's 69.99 at OD. Then I called the other store that is local to me and they that they dont carry the network in a box?
Is this deal a regonal deal or is it all over the 48 states?

I went to a couple of different OD and it looks like they are all this price. I don't have enough phone wire so I'm wondering if this is a good deal since I gotta get a hub too. But then aren't NICs usually $19 each? And even if they are 1 Mbps they say it comes with a 10BaseT port, so get a 10Mbps Ethernet and tada 10Mbps?

I believe the 10Mbps port is how you connect the external networking devices to each of your PCs, then you connect those devices through your phone lines to get a 1Mbps connection. So the communication between PCs is not 10Mbps, it is 1Mbps.

My bad, I realized that the cards allow 10Mbps networking also. Not a bad deal.

...Just came back from O.Depot and O.Max...both prices are correct, but the 29.88 O.Depot price is a clearance price; as the O.Max manager politely pointed out to me on the gigantic pricematch sign on the wall, "...not valid on Add Errors or Clearance Prices".
No dice.

This deal is pretty hairy. I wasn't able to pull it off. First off, OD didn't publish a salepaper this week because of anticipated light shopping due to the Fourth. So the only way to do it was to bring in a receipt to OM and pray. But the pinprick OM manager and his posse of bored employees would have none of this consumer slight-of-hand. He told me that all clearance items in OM are marked with a '5' or an '8' at the end of their stock numbers. And the Low Price Guarantee does not apply to clearance items on EITHER OM's inventory list OR the other store's list. He called up a manager at a local OD (perhaps old chums from manager academy?)and smugly reported to me that the phone networking kit was on clearance in both stores. There was nothing I could do. So I guess I'll go home and see if this less-than-Ethernet contraption will actually work.

Just finished networking the 4 computers in my house. It works ok, tho the closer the network card is to the wall socket, the happier it is. Ping times between the computers are great, but the bandwidth obviously sucks ass. Windows qouted me a time of 50 or so minutes to copy 200 megs through the network I didn't bother finishing it.

i just got it also, but it's on clearance on OD so when i did the PM with OM they forgot to mention to the OD if it is clearance so i got it for $14.00
