Homosexuality is in no way genetic. Its a choice. Its a preference. How many little boys do you see kissing other boys. It is a choice made during or after puberty.

oh please, how many people want to be gay? It's not exactly fun.

 Yeah, I'm sure there are so many out there who absolutely HATE being attracted to the same sex.

Source?
My source is common logic. try reading the other 2 sentences in my post.

Question: Who would WANT to be gay, given societies shunning of it?

Also, while we're at it, how many 6 and 7 year old boys do you see kissing girls?

Yeah it's fun being treated like shit.
This is a pointless argument, people think what they think.

little boys don't like girls either..cooties anyone? its not until puberty that sexuality becomes and issue, so i don't see your point.

there are many cases of kids knowing something is off very young. even if they are suppressed from expressing it by societal pressure.

its a rather strange choice to make for a young child don't you think? did you make a choice that you would lust for the opposite sex? i'pm sorry, that kind of desire is not a choice. atleast by my own experience. i did not choose to be hetero. i knew before i knew any better. its just silly to think otherwise.

and single sex is not something you'd evolve towards. we are far past the point where that is possible. and the genetic bustness of heterosexual reproduction is a great advantage

Please, most of my gay friends hate being gay, or would prefer not to be. There is no proof either way whether it's genetic or society, but they all 'knew' they were before they even knew what the word meant.

Sounds like you don't have very many close gay friends.

I believe that how suceptable a person is to engaging in homosexual thoughts / acts is correlated to where a person falls on this scale (genetics codes for what range of traits can possibly be expressed and the environment places you somewhere in that range)

What I'm curious about is are there any apparent advangates for homosexuality to exist?

We can see that many animals show some form of homosexuality wether it is just a physical release, or they can't tell the difference between a male and female, or if a lack of females causes males to think they can successfully mate with other males I don't know.

Is it possible that while our decendents were first evolving there weren't 2 sepatate sexes and homosexuality is genetic code that was just never removed and and managed to stay in a consistant proportion of the population so as not to disappear.

Is it possible that our species is evolving to a single sex?

Do you have any other explanations? I'm not too concerned with the social aspect of the discussion in this thread.

riiiiight.....that makes sense....Where has it EVER shown that we are all becoming one sex? Do you see ANY signs of that happening. No, you see guys on top of guys, women on top of women, its homosexual. there is nothing there to say we are becoming ONE sex

i dunno about you but i had crushes on little girls when i was a little boy. we used "cooties" as a defense mechanism to prevent being made fun of.

yes, crushes. but before a certain point i'm sure you didn't have crushes. but after that certain point you had crushes on girls for no reason you could fathom. you just lusted for them, and not knowing why or being able to handle it you'd make fun of girls, or play the cooties game.

sounds like a choice eh?

i think both are true, depending on stage of development.

I BELIEVE it is a choice. Basically, if you are christian, most will believe this. Just going off what I believe

I believe it is a choice. I also beleive it is genetic. You can be predisposed to being homosexual in the same way you can be predisposed to being an alcoholic. The gene sequence even if in many different forms causing the same "symptoms" is probably there. Then choice comes in which is in the action. You can choose to act on the urges or not. Same for heteros and and the alcholics mentioned earlier. I don't think you can choose to have the urges.

Are there advantages? I don't know I would assume it is a gene sequence trying to end itself. Maybe not end itself but some other sequence. Evolution just hasn't tweaked it enough to overcome the desire to procreate or fvck just for the sake of fvcking . Add to that peer pressure and the stigma it has been given. Also if it is a way to end sequences you are obviously always going to have sequences that evolution wants to get rid of and if this is a mechanism more homesexuals will exist in the future.

Is it wrong as some have mentioned. I don't know. How could acting out a natural urge be wrong?

Will we be one sex? Yes but most likely female.

Are they more masculine/ feminine? I think homosexuals are hyper-masculine.

Being homosexual really isn't a choice. I certainly can't control it when I find myself attracted to someone, male or female. Acting on it regardless of the consequences is a choice.
