Honda Accord Coupe V6 with navi for 26k

OR

Acura TSX with navi for 28k

My friend's father owns a couple car dealerships and is going to give me a good deal on a car. I'm either going with the Accord or the TSX but what do you guys think is a better value? I plan to drive this car for at least 5 or 6 years and sell it. Would the Accord hold its value better over time or the TSX?

and yes I realize one is a sedan and the other is a coupe

I just don't like the look of the Accord sedan but the coupe looks pretty good to me

accord is faster and cheaper. and you don't have to flog it to pass traffic.

TSX unless you can get the Accord in a 4-door. Coupes are a PITA, the insurance is cheaper for a sedan, and the TSX has more sex appeal than the Accord (but for the money you save you can afford some non-car sex appeal).

Is it true that insurance is cheaper on a sedan than a coupe? I didn't know that.

You forgot to mention if you're getting stick or autotragic. That makes a big difference as well since the TSX will be zero fun to drive with an auto.

I was going to get the 6 speed manual but I'll only be using this car for two years and my girlfriend is going to take it. She doesn't know how to drive manual so I need to get an automatic.

I just spent about 3 hours driving my buddy's 05 TSX auto from MI to toronto and it is a pretty smooth ride so I should be happy with the auto.

After having a Honda with a motor that loved revs I can't imagine slapping an auto on it, just IMHO.

EDIT: In other words get the V6 since its a much better match for a slush box.

I'm going to test drive the Accord this weekend. I've driven a regular accord i4 before so let's see if the V6 is really that much faster.

Meh, 9/10 the coupe is more expensive to insure assuming the same car.

TSX

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you will probably sell it for more than $2000 more than the accord, when you are done with it.

that said, you might want to check in to insurance price differences (probably not much) and if the Acura requires more maintenance

What trim Accord? Personally, I'd go for the Accord. You get a more powerful engine and save $2k.

You're going to GIVE your girlfriend this car after only 2 years?

Propose first FTW!

Oh, and TSX.
