I suppose you are talking about the hybrid engines? I would like to point out that they do nothing to save the environment, and are actually harmful overall. Electric motors use considerably more energy then an IC engine for the same amount of acceleration. That energy comes from things like Diesel burning power plants that have to put out more pollution to meet the demand then if the car was just a normal efficient gas powered car.
Now, I will give Honda and Toyota kudos for making efficient IC engines and keeping total weight down on the cars they put them in. That more then hybrid or hydrogen cars will make a difference.

why not a 10-cylinder NSX and go head-to-head with the F430?

I think they'd be stupid to do this. Their fuel efficient tack is about to pay off the way gas prices are sky rocketing. Hold out a little longer and people will be buying hybrids left and right.

Can V10's be made with only 2L?

on a side note, it occured to me why the prius has destroyed honda's offerings in the hyrbrid market, in terms of sales...

the prius is almost its own BRAND. people refer to the prius to refer to an entire lifestyle. it's literally become the generic term for hybrid, like "kleenex" or "coke." in letters to newspaper editors, people don't say "drive hyrbrids," they say "drive a prius." and it's all because toyota had the forsight to make their first hybrid a seperate model, with distinct styling. people don't want the civic hybrid because they want other people to KNOW they are driving a hybrid. honda played it safe by only introducing limited-production wacko-cars (insight) or hedging by making their volume hybrid nothing more than a trim level for the civic. the accord hybrid is even worse, with almost no one on the planet even knowing it exists!

big time marketing blunders on honda's part!
