Did you even login? The things you describe are only on the home page - the logged in portion is actually pretty clean.

I can't do much about the "times new roman headings", but I am interested in replacing the trash icon and green arrow icons with something a bit more modern. Also, what don't you like about the background? What would you change it to? A solid color?

your home page is the welcome mat, matt.

The bottom text is hard for me to read, you might want to slightly darken it (Yes, im using an LCD with the darkest setting being "GAH, my eyes", but still, most people don't even turn down the brightness for their monitors.)

Layout is fine, but I just can see myself using a website like this. IDK, someone probably will.

As well, hitting enter puts up a new example. That's annoying, the example should cleared after the first entry (I am using noscript, I have to manually clear it each time.).

Other things that might be nice.

If you put in "Finish test by monday", it should put some sort of due date on a task. It would also be nice to have tasks ordered by when they should be finished (if possible) and tasks that have no deadline should be last.

We have one guy working on the natural language portion of the site as 100% of his submission. Don't worry, that's coming

As for the darkening of the text and the removing examples after a single submission, I'll work on that!

I don't like the boxiness of it. I'd like to see curves in the corners.

Yea, the homepage. It has a Windows 3.1 look to it :^D I don't mind the basic colors, but I'd like to see everything more rounded.

I'd like to see how this looks in two columns. A list of lists in the left. Items for the current list on the right. Should be pretty simple? Better than going back and forth like it is now.

I'm not worried by the 'boxiness', though the colour scheme could use a bit more contrast.

Alright. I'll work on this. Should I make that one interface (and allow people to choose the existing one?), or work on making it the only interface?

an edit button for entries would be nice. I'm not a big fan of the yellow bolded text either.

That's just the logged out interface - it's meant to be quite simple. The logged in interface is much better, once you actually save your list.

Nice! I enjoy the two column setup. Much easier to navigate through everything.

Small things:

the list of items, could it start at the top? there's a bunch of empty space at the top and a title (maybe redundant?). Might look cleaner if the list items started at the top of the space.

Is it possible to put the cursor in the new item text field automatically? This would allow for rapid-fire item entry w/o having to click/tab into the text-field first.

*edit* nm, something changed. The site seems to have two code paths, one for no list and making a new account, and one for a list and making an account. One asked for an email address and password, the other just for an email address. One had the cross-off feature, the other didn't.

Crossing off something should be undoable.

Not sure what you mean. When you go through either path, you'll have the cross off feature.

If you could explain what you did, perhaps I could make that more clear. The code path is the same no matter which route you take.

I'll fix the undo cross off.

Thanks I'm working on hyperlink integration, sending, and sharing. The last two will be really powerful.

Honestly I think this is a great idea.

I've been looking for a good way to keep my notes for EVER. Nothing has worked for me. With this I will have my list on the go with my iPhone, and can also look it up on PC.

I seriously may use this 24/7

Edit: It would be really cool if I could add details to individual items! Maybe the details don't show up until I click on an item?

Edit2: Or, instead, maybe if you could nest items, that would work well too.
Ie:
I. Things to do (list)
1. Get Groceries (parent item)
a. eggs (child item)
b. milk (child item)

Hi James,

I've been thinking of nested items. The hard part is that once you introduce complexity, it no longer works like a piece of paper and pen. What makes yiglet good is that it so closely resembles what people do on a daily basis with post it notes/lined paper.

I'll definitely add details for individual items. Let me think about it for a bit.

Have you tried the email system? I'm still working on that, but sending works perfectly.

Ok, I see what it is. I was looking at the list of lists and not the items in the list.

The first item only happens when you have one or two items in the list. After you add a few, it will push it to the top of the box before it pushes the page down.

I'll work on the second item

Just released a new version:
- you can cross things "on"
- auto-focus on the form field for adding items
- links work and will show the title of the page

Completely understandable

I haven't tried the email yet, but I will now!
