Thanks for the suggestions. Can you explain the vertical spacing issue a little more?

When you email stuff to send@yiglet, it should send your updated list back to you. This was a suggestion by another member. If it isn't something you like, then perhaps its time to make it an option?

Hmm, yeah an option to turn that off would be nice.

As for the vertical spacing, I just mean the height of the rows of list items. They could be a bit smaller as to decrease the spacing between rows, thus making it tighter.

Same with the header, lots of space above and below the logo that could be shortened.

there's actually a reason I added that space in - my friend's resolution is super high, and it just looked awful on his screen.

I guess I could try to find a nice balance. I know the logo thing needs to go.... but I need one made first

Why can't I drag and drop items on my to do list?

For example, if I had two items in my to do list like "bury the body" and "kill my wife"... why can't I click and drag "bury the body" under "kill my wife" to put them in the proper order?

That's hard. I just started

I know we talked about nested lists yesterday, but if I could add one feature, that would still be it. Just sayin

Yeah, other people have asked for that too. From a data store standpoint, it's really easy. From a graphical standpoint it would be a bit harder. Let me think about how I can implement it.

Well, right now I'm working on 3 things - sending lists to other people, sharing lists with other people, and natural processing, such as "my todo list for friday" will automatically be emailed to you the next friday, or "things to do in nyc on 3/26/2010" will be emailed the morning of the 26th.

Question:

So I need to develop some sort of notification system for the following actions:

* Someone sends you a list (Options: Accept/Deny)
* Someone shares a list with you (Options: Accept/Deny)
* Someone updates a list that is shared with you (No options)
* Merge lists with the same name (Accept/Deny)

At first, I thought about designing an in-interface notifications system, but now that I think about it, it might just be better to send an email with a link in it. What are your thoughts?

OK, so I'm stuck. yiglet is growing, but there are some usability issues. First, I think the header is too big... do you guys agree? Should I move the yiglet "logo" to the top left and allow for a smaller header? Second, the home page shouldn't exist ... the "interfaces" and "about us" page should be moved to the settings page (and perhaps I can rename Settings to Settings & About or something), and the "list overview" page should be moved to it's own header item, I think... it's hard to navigate otherwise.

Thoughts?

I've browsed through this thread a few times, visited the site a few times, and even tested out the site for kicks. Whenever I see this thread title on the first page, I test myself -- and despite my many exposures to the site, I can never remember the name without looking this thread up.

This is one of the biggest flaws about the success of Web 2.0 in my opinion -- every new startup is trying to be unique by creating a hip, made up name, and the purpose of becoming unique is in fact having the exact opposite effect ; everything is running together. [ Squidoo, Orkut, Digg, reddit, Jookster, bebo, Joomla etc ]

Creating an easy to remember name is extremely hard to do, especially since there are so many domain squatters nowadays, so this approach used to be a really good idea -- until everybody followed suit. I've fallen for this trend many times as well, so I am not unfairly criticizing you, I just think it's important to let you know of my experience, since surely I am not the only one.
Otherwise, I like the speed and simplicity of the site, best of luck!

Is the to-do list private? Can you integrate it to a database with similar activities of other people?

If you could do something like that, MS will buy the site from you in 3-4 years.

We own anapkin.com on top of yiglet, but we were afraid people would forget if it was anapkin, thenapkin, or napkin.com. Plus, it doesn't look like "a napkin" at first, but "anap kin".
