that's some pretty strong decentering right there. i hope sigma is sending them a new one. you'd think sigma would check before sending lenses out to reviewers, though.

I once owned a Sigma lens, but never again. I'm not saying they're terrible in quality, but I would definitely say they're not at the top. I'll admit that I'm a brand guy and have yet to have any significant kinds of quality issues with any of my Canon glass. I had a Tamron lens and was very happy with that, so not all third party stuff is junk.

I will also add that I will likely never buy anything but Canon anymore. The name just holds way more value if you ever try to sell anything!

well, no duh, but nikkor and canon don't make crop portrait zooms, and tokina's doesn't have a sonic motor (not to mention the 135 length, don't people read thom hogan?)


there is good sigma glass out there, you may just have to send it to them a couple times before getting it =\

Well, it is quite fair to send a standard lens not a specialle prepaired/ selected one.

I'd argue that the Sigma EX lenses are built very well. QC is where sigma tends to suffer though, especially moreso with canon it seems (not based on hard evidence).

I just wish this particular lens was a little cheaper, or had OS. I don't want to pay for the canon, heh.
