Honesty please, Are overweight people (women) undesireable?

I was in a huge discussion/fight with a friend about this topic. He stated that no one can be attracted to someone who is over weight. I told him that I am attracted to men who are overweight. He said that it is different for men because they are visual. I would like to know what other people think.

I think it tends to be true that most men find overweight women much more unattractive than skinny women. Unfortunately, society has grafted a mental image into the heads of most men in which if they are seen with an overweight girl, they will automatically be deemed unpopular.

Of course they can be attractive. Some men even have a fetish for the larger woman. Personally I don't mind a little overweight. If she's a jerry springer episode just waiting to happen then that might be a bit much, but otherwise it can put curves in all the right places

Depends on a lot of things but age and maturity I think are the biggest, no pun intended.

I was a strict follower of the "no fat chicks allowed" rule in high school. However, I've grown (again no pun intended) to appreciate that a lot of skinny girls are really stupid. hehehe well maybe. Anyway I've come to the conclusion that a good conversationalist is always a diamond in the rough. So looks aren't too much of a consideration as long as we communicate well. Also, curves are sexy. I've seen my share of very curvacious, sexy girls that didn't necessarily fit into a size 4, especially those hot Latinas. Aya-yay~ Mamacita!

Overweight? Yes, we can be and are desirable. Unfortunately as stated earlier.... Men have let society dictate-by in large-how they view someone that isn't a size 6. That is very sad. Especially if those men expect children out of the deal.

How about thick? I see that as a blessing depending on the woman. Some thicker women look great, and overall, I'd rather have a girl with meat on her bones rather than what you always see on TV (thin, near-anorexia, ya know....)

Women who are overtly overweight are unattractive to me but normal meaty women can easily be sexy as long as you can still see some curves.. in fact given a choice between Ally McMeal and an overweight woman I'd choose the overweight woman.. I hate skeletons.. eww..

To me this primarily depends on muscle tone. I can deal with a slightly chunky pretty, muscular girl, but frankly never anything over 145 lb. and NEVER if she is flabby. Just not my thing I guess.

Hey, overweight women are ugly, or pretty... it is in the eye of the beholder...

If they are proportional they are usually beatiful no matter what weight they are...

Underweight women with big boobies, and they are ALL REAL... yeah, right, i can spot a fake boobie on quite a distance... this was not in my military training, this is a skill i have developed as i hang around gym's a lot... with lot's of underweight women with HUGE knockers... it is quite pathetic...

Lots of good input, this is great. I do realize that not everyone will be attracted to overweight women just like I know that not everyone will be attracted to thin women. In a perfect world we would over look weight, race, and age but this is not a perfect world. I posted this because a good friend of mine was hurt by what a person said about her weight and it really irritated me. I want her and any other overweight person out there to know that they are desireable maybe not to everyone but thats ok. If someone is not attracted to you the way you are then you say, next!
