Hooking up XBOX360 to DVD Player/Recorder

I have people coming over in a couple hours and I need some help.

I am trying to run my XBOX 360 from my Samsung DLP TV to my DVD player to my XBOX 360. I have to go this route because my TV is in a cabinet and it is virtually impossible to get to any of the components.

-Component cables are running from the TV into the back of the DVD player.
-I have a TOSLINK running from the home theater receiver to the DVD player.
-Then I have the XBOX 360 cables running from the xbox cable to RCA into the rear of the DVD player. I am picking up audio of the game from the surround sound, but I am getting NO VIDEO whatsoever.

Am I doing this completely wrong or is there literally nothing I can do? Any alternate methods would be greatly appreciated, as I need this to work!!!

I'm not sure I follow this, and to the extent that I do, I'm not sure it's possible. You are trying to run the Xbox through a DVD player? Does your DVD player have video inputs that re-route to video outputs? I've not seen such a thing, but that doesn't someone's not made it.

Yes, I just need video to show up somehow. I can't access the back of the TV. Isn't there anyway I can do this?

DVD players don't have video inputs....unless its a DVD recorder...

Perhaps there is a setting for it pass through the video input as a kind of monitor function. Is there anything in the player's settings menu?

Connect it to one of the inputs. Set your DVD recorder to that input. Connect DVD recorder to TV. Set TV to input of the DVD recorder.

I got the video. There was a switch on my xbox cable that had to be switched. STUPID me! Thank you all for your help. But now I think I crossed up wires....crap.

Hmmm think you could run by a radio shack really quick? If you may just want consider getting 3 RCA jack couplers and unhook the component cables going from the DVD recorder and join them up with the component cables coming out of the 360. Then unhook the TOSlink from the DVD recorder and plug it into the 360. You'll get much better video and audio this way since right now you're just viewing SD.

After an AIM convo, we're disconnecting the DVD recorder for now since it's not needed at the moment.

The Component video that was connecting the DVD recorder to the TV will be hooked up to the component output from the receiver
The toslink connection that was connecting the DVD recorder will be plugged into the toslink output from the 360
The Component output from the 360 will be plugged into one of the component inputs on the Denon

Then, the receiver just has to be configured to match up the toslink to the correct component input

I think it was because he only has 1 Component cable and 2 sources that send component (The cable for the 360 is specific for it too) so he needs 1 more Component cable in order to hook up both sources at the same time through the receiver.

If he could get to the back of the TV, then of course he could just hook up each source to a different component input on the TV, but for some reason that sounded like it was impossible.
