Hooray for SVC!

Hehe, for all those looking for a decent online store to buy performance enhancing/overclocking parts you should check out SVC. I have ordered from them numerous times but this last purchase went too well to not mention.

I purchased some new copper shielded rounded cables Monday morning to go with my Epox 8RDA+. One, they were on sale (like 30% off if I recall correctly). Two, the cables arrived here in Virginia Beach TODAY! That's two days after the order was entered. I guess this is also a plug for USPS Priority shipping.

I am very happy, my new cables are here waiting for the 8RDA+. w00t.

Edit to add: Let me just say that my motherboard is due to arrive tomorrow (Thursday) so I was sitting on pins and needles hoping that the cables would arrive in time for me to install them with the board. The IDE arrangement is different and my old rounded cables are now not of the right configuration (length and # of devices both) so I NEEDED these cables for the installation. You can see the source of my anxiety.

Yep SVC is a born-again excellent reseller. They had a dark period of 6 months or so where they seemed like they didn't care, but someone (new ownership maybe?) has lit a fire under their proverbial @sses and they've made a complete 180. I didn't witness first hand some of the horror stories (wrong parts, slow shipping, poor CS,etc) in some of the hot deal threads from a few months ago, all of my orders have been consistently excellent in the past. Over the last two or three months, I've placed 4 orders with SVC and all have been excellent. They've also begun to expand their selection as well; every time I visit them or they send me a flier, there's some new hot item that I can't help but order As the others have mentioned, USPS in 2 days from Cali to DC rivals Newegg (although the online tracking is terrible), and the difference is you can order 6 small trinket type items w/out getting hit with Newegg's standard $5 to $6 FedEx saver chargers per item.

same owner, same management. they went thru a growth spurt. i first bought from them about 2.5 yrs ago. i bought a HSF from them, that's all they sold back then. since then they've grown a lot and they had some problems managing new employees. good to hear they got their act together again.

they were always very good in the past. (before the growth thing.

I live in Northern CA, near SVC, and everything I order from them arrives the next day via Priority Mail. Very convenient.

The main draw to SVC is their resonable shipping charges and overall low costs. NewEgg loses a lot my own and I'm sure other people's business on small items because of the outrageous shipping charges on small items. I wouldn't be supprised if many of us spend as much or more money on the small items we always seem to need vs. the major puchases. Upon checking out their site again, I see on some some small items they've decreased the compounding shipping charges. This is the way it used to be: Say for instance you purchased a $5.00 round IDE cable, they'd charge $6.00 shipping. If you got another $5.00 cable, you got hit with another $6.00 shipping charge. This adds up very quickly. Soon those "afforable" IDE cables are way too expensive.

Yeah, it looks like SVC has got their sh*t together since the end of last year. I've ordered from them three times in the last 6-8 weeks, each time my order has shipped out the same day and I received it in 2-3 days. Can't beat that. I take back anyhting bad I said about them last year.

newegg also has very fast shipping which is why I order from them most of the time. this week, newegg sent an Epox 8RDA+ from California to Alabama in two days with free fedex saver shipping :Q

I can't believe I am say this, but after placing a bunch of orders with SVC recently, I am going to say they are right up there with Newegg in service and speed!

CRAP. I hate to tell you huys but they are MOST CERTAINLY not up there with Newegg or any other reputable online store. Failure to send me all of my fans is downright incompetence, and even after I contacted them numerous times I never recieved all of my fans. What kind of bullsh!t service is that? Don't compare SVC to Newegg. Now granted, maybe SVC has gotten better, but Iv never had such a problem at any other store.
