how high of an overclock can you expect from a 2100+ TBred B? more than a 1800+ Tbred B? i've heard in general they all go to about 2600+ speeds and no higher.

I'm not sure about you, but I went to googlegear and looked for the retail XP2100+ @ $90 and found that this cpu's specifications were rather odd.

Retail XP2100+ @ Googlegear specifications:
Die size: approximately 37.5 million transistors on 128mm2. Manufactured using AMD's state-of-the-art 0.13-micron copper process technology at AMD's Fab 30 wafer fabrication facility in Dresden, Germany.

AnandTech's T-bred B specs:
Die size: 37.6 million transistors on 84mm^2.

I couldn't find the voltage on Googlegear to compare, but from the die size alone, this looks like a Palomino core, while the .13 micron would specify it as a T-bred...

So do you actually have one in your hand yet? Can you confirm by the CPUID and what not that this is indeed a T-bred B? I don't know if it is just chance like @ newegg where it is supposedly 7/10 chance of getting a B when purchasing the 1700+. If it is a B then this would be great considering retail should provide cpu+heatsink fan combo with the cpu for an extra $5 more than NewEgg's price of the OEM version(although I never bought any retail CPUs). Considering that I just bought an SK-7 + panaflo for an older build @ $23, this extra $5 is worth the extra cash for temporary cooling until I can replace it with something better. Of course I'm planning on buying an XP 2100+ soon so any input would be helpful. Until further input I'm leaning towards NewEgg's OEM version for $85.

Anyone know if week 6 is any good? Also, judging by the numbers its a downgraded 2800+

AXDA2100DUT3C

AIUHB0306MPMW

Edit: I havn't put it in yet tho... waiting for my slk800 hsf to get here (on monday). I will let you know what I can get it to then... hoefully it will overclock with a vengeance

The "downgraded" stuff was proven to be a mistake.

All I know is I've got a week 1 TbredB from 2003 (2100+), and man does that thing run cool with an SK-7 & AS3, even overclocked.

I've had my 1600+ Palamino running at 2100+ for the past 6 months, how much of a performance gain, do you guys think I would have if I get this?

2.4Ghz and 1.7v air cooled is really something

The link at googlegear for oem and retail is rather vague. I took a chance at the 2100+ because folks said they were mostly Tbird-B's. The OEM version says DUT3C in the description but the Retail version had nothing. Both are Tbird B's.

I posted the following in another thread: Today

first one: DUT3C AIUHB 0301MPMW, which I no longer have access too. Was stable to 2.0GHz at 1.55v

The one I have now is code:
axda2100dut3c
9772407262397
aiuhb0306mpmw

also stable to 2.0GHz at 1.55v at default or 150MHz FSB.

I have problems in memtest #5 going to higher FSB's (even with the lowest multiplier and slowest memory timings and increased voltage 1.75) using DDR 2700 Corsair. I believe it's the Mboard, a soltek SL-75MRN but that is yet to be proven.

Most of the 2100+ TBred B's from Newegg (that I've seen) run ~2.4GHz Air Cooled. My 1700+ TBred B from Newegg runs about 2.07-2.1GHz w/o a problem, and thats typical. Coincidentally, I went from a 1600+ running at 2100+ to this current chip, and I like it, but I managed to sell the old chip for about the same price as I bought this new one for. Its not really worth it to go up, you'd be going from a 2100+ to a 2600+.
