Ropecastors are awesome. A fun mechanic to play with.
Thing is, I find fire arrows to be overpowered. So long as you can make more via crafting, you can just hammer away at almost any beast and eventually kill it. Most beasts freak out over being on fire and just sit their wiggling. Rarely will a beast attack while on fire.
I did override a snapjaw a few days ago that was parto f a pack of 3. And that was epic. The snapjaw took one of the others out on it's own and took half the life out of the other.
Glinthawks are vulnerable to fire which makes them go down easily.Really? I found the opposite to be true, at least from my experience. I only use fire on the hawks to take them down, otherwise I haven't found them very useful. Low damage and a lot of machines I've used them on seem to not care one bit and charge at me anyway. Sometimes it even seems like it pisses them off faster than normal.
Once I got hard point arrows I gave up using elemental arrows. I didn't come across too many situations where hard point arrows to blast off armor and then precision arrows to hit the exposed point wasn't a better option.
For some larger beasts that's what I do. Blasting off pieces seems to do a lot of damage too.And some beasts that fire projectiles can have their guns shot off which is awesome. One of the largest (maybe the largest) shoots drones in the air. You have to attack that weapon first to disable it.
The worst enemies for me were swarms of glint hawks. They move all over and blast you with ice. They are just a little difficult to target accurately and that is annoying. All the supposedly big tough enemies were pretty simple for me.
YupAnd you can pick up those weapons and use them.
My most hated enemies are the RockBreakers. I found the Glinthawks easy to deal with when using the ropecaster.
I find that you have to use the landscape against them to protect yourself.
explains why I was being demolished at the quarry... those damn barrels didn't help at all!
I meant 50.the 2 was near the 0.The level cap is 50.
I got the Platinum Trophy Monday night, and my time clock said about 86 hours. I am at about 96% now, I think I have a couple of more side quests and just need to buy 1 more shadow outfit for 100%
Well, the ending certainly leaves DLC and/or a sequel in place! Hopefully DLC as I dont want to wait years for a sequel! This game was pretty damend epic. My only complaint is that it was just a tad bit longer than I would have liked. But that is a minor gripe.
Hoping for some epic DLC. If not, can't wait for the sequel.
Sony wants this to be the franchise to replace Uncharted as their flagship.
And even as a big fan of the Uncharted series I think they have already surpassed it with Horizon. I really enjoyed Uncharted 4 (which I consider the best of the series), but Horizon Zero Dawn was a far superior game IMO.
