oh yeah, a flock of Glinthawks is a major PITA. They are better once you level up concentration and add the ability to reload faster while in concentration. Then you can use fire arrows to set them on fire without them being able to move out of range.

I'm on a quest where I have to gather machine blood for this shaman. Up to the storm bird now and I hate fighting those things.

Ropecastors are awesome. A fun mechanic to play with.

Thing is, I find fire arrows to be overpowered. So long as you can make more via crafting, you can just hammer away at almost any beast and eventually kill it. Most beasts freak out over being on fire and just sit their wiggling. Rarely will a beast attack while on fire.

I did override a snapjaw a few days ago that was parto f a pack of 3. And that was epic. The snapjaw took one of the others out on it's own and took half the life out of the other.

Really? I found the opposite to be true, at least from my experience. I only use fire on the hawks to take them down, otherwise I haven't found them very useful. Low damage and a lot of machines I've used them on seem to not care one bit and charge at me anyway. Sometimes it even seems like it pisses them off faster than normal.

Once I got hard point arrows I gave up using elemental arrows. I didn't come across too many situations where hard point arrows to blast off armor and then precision arrows to hit the exposed point wasn't a better option.

Glinthawks are vulnerable to fire which makes them go down easily.

I've just found that I always have fire arrows and that when up against a large back I can just go fire arrow wild. That way I can focus my attack on one at a time with melee attacks.

For some larger beasts that's what I do. Blasting off pieces seems to do a lot of damage too.
And some beasts that fire projectiles can have their guns shot off which is awesome. One of the largest (maybe the largest) shoots drones in the air. You have to attack that weapon first to disable it.

Basically how I try to approach any thunderjaw. I'll take out the disk launcher first then try and use that against them. Although I prefer to fight them from a distance.

The worst enemies for me were swarms of glint hawks. They move all over and blast you with ice. They are just a little difficult to target accurately and that is annoying. All the supposedly big tough enemies were pretty simple for me.

My most hated enemies are the RockBreakers. I found the Glinthawks easy to deal with when using the ropecaster.

Yup

And I think it is awesome because the beast you need to do this with is one of the last that you encounter and have to learn to fight. Without using it's own weapons against it, it takes a long time to take down. But it's own weapons can be used to take about 1/3 to 1/2 the health away from it.
I like how they made this the final step in the progression of fighting beasts. The game creators provide a huge payoff if you took the time to learn how to use vulnerabilities against the beasts.

Also if you don't move when they are underground or move quietly they can't target you when they come up

Ha...on the side mission at the quarry, I ran up the ramp and sniped him from above.

My game clock says 61 hours now, and I am still only at 65% completion. Level 44 I think. Looks like I have at least 5 or 6 main mission quests left and a bunch of side quests left.

Wow, finished the main campaign last night. Pretty epic battles. I'm at level 52, 80% completion. Now i'm gonna do all the activities. Pretty awesome game overall and can't wait for some DLC.

The level cap is 50.

I got the Platinum Trophy Monday night, and my time clock said about 86 hours. I am at about 96% now, I think I have a couple of more side quests and just need to buy 1 more shadow outfit for 100%

This game was pretty damend epic. My only complaint is that it was just a tad bit longer than I would have liked. But that is a minor gripe.

Hoping for some epic DLC. If not, can't wait for the sequel.

Well, the ending certainly leaves DLC and/or a sequel in place! Hopefully DLC as I dont want to wait years for a sequel!

Sony wants this to be the franchise to replace Uncharted as their flagship.

And even as a big fan of the Uncharted series I think they have already surpassed it with Horizon. I really enjoyed Uncharted 4 (which I consider the best of the series), but Horizon Zero Dawn was a far superior game IMO.

From a certain point of view yeah. I think uncharted was more epic in terms of story and had more memorable characters but the world of Horizon is much better. More lore etc
