Horizon Zero Dawn reviews looking good...

IMO, they are too different to compare really. Open world with light RPG elements, versus linear third person shooter/environmental platformer.

I loved the story of Horizon Zero Dawn. The overall plot device is something that we have seen over and over again (Butlerian Jihad, Skynet, The Matrix), but the way humans responded and the way the story was told made it really good.

I'd call Uncharted a popcorn action flick...obviously like Indiana Jones. Horizon is more of a fantasy/Sci-fi epic like the Shannara series by Terry Brooks, or Wheel of Time kind of has the same elements of an advanced society that collapses and leads to a less advanced society living among the ruins and wondering about their fore-bearers.

I'm not sure if they will continue uncharted but from what I've heard the new uncharted game featuring Chloe won't be dlc but a full game, not featuring Nathan Drake.

I am glad that horizon will have a sequel. Seeing how I can't game on my PC now I really should finish up the last main mission.

Both games are unique in their own ways but I always found uncharted to be more like a tomb raider game whereas horizon expands on that so I'd correlate it more with the Witcher games.

The new Uncharted game isn't a "full" game. It includes Uncharted 4's multiplayer and has a shorter story mode where you play as Chloe. It's not as long as normal Uncharted games.

I got this game on Saturday. It's a blast Looks gorgeous and runs super smooth! No slowdowns, beautiful artwork, vistas and in general how it looks. Gameplay is super fun and the story is opening nicely - the game really pulled me in and I find it hard to put it away. I really want to know what happened to the world and how it became like it is in the game! Plus it manages to scratch that exploration and "I will clear every single map icon" itch I have with Skyrim and Fallout games

All your statements will come true. Those map icons are nice to clear indeed. My only literal complaint about the game is that it is a tad to long. I wish about 10% of the content were not there. Still though, 9.999/10!

This game is as epic as you think it is going to be. Like Oyeve, I want some friggin DLC and a sequel. 20-30 hours of gameplay via some DLC would be awesome for $20-$30 while we wait for the sequel.

Only minor spoiler, there is an after credits scene after you beat the game!

Thanks for that. I usually exit right after I'm done. I literally need to get back on and finish this game. I think I honestly forgot the controls. My ps4 hasn't been turned on in months.

i spent too much time away so i figure I'll basically have to relearn the control scheme but it's on my to-do list.

I didn't hear that before. Maybe it's cause there was just a lot of games released within the early part of this year and I missed it. I remember for witcher 3 though the developer made it really clear they would continue the game through dlc. I didn't see the developers of horizon do the same here but like I said maybe I missed it.

What I would love to see, is a way to turn off the hostile machines after you have beaten the game. Sometimes it is hard to just explore and take in the sights when you are constantly being attacked by machines.

There is an area just Northwest of the Grave Hoard that I haven't figured out if it is possible to access. There is a path that ends at a cliff, and at the top of the cliff, it is evident the path continues. Once you get out of the Grave Hoard and you are on a platform above the entrance, you can look over the the upper pathway, and see a large Banuk deer statue, but it is far away and barely visible. I can't imagine why they would put a statue in that area if it were not accessible. I tried climbing on the tentacles of the dead Horus to get over there, but couldn't find a way.

To learn spoiler free, see how many missions you have completed then check the total mission count. I think there are 23 total missions but google to verify.

considering I haven't finished it... you're right.

jumped back into it over the weekend and I concluded that I am somewhat retarded playing this game. i was getting frustrated because I couldn't seem to time and hit key components on machines like I was able a few months ago--to a fair degree of accuracy anyway. then i discovered the first tier "slow time" ability that I guess I just forgot about lol... I remembered the reflex one where your aim is better when you jump or slide (not unlocked either) but I totally overlooked the other one. i unlocked it and...

oh my word the game is so much easier haha; I can't believe how unintentionally hard I made it on myself and I was level 28 when I unlocked the slow time. kinda pissed cuz I prob could have seriously done wayyyy better much earlier on in the game. oh well, did a bunch of missions and captured a few outposts. i can tell I still have many hours to go before I've got the majority of the activities done, but at least it will be a lot less frustrating now.

Did some research yesterday. Apparently DLC was confirmed back in March and a sequel is definitely in the works. They didn't say much about the sequel though. It's probably still in design.

Anyway, DLC is expected this summer or fall. From what I read, people are speculating that DLC will come in the late summer based on historical norms from the devs to create DLC. July might happen but I'm not counting on it.

More bad guys are in the plans though (sequel). They stated that they had more weapons in Horizon initially but it made it harder to switch between weapons quickly and easily. They lowered the number to make the game more fluid and fun as a design decision and I think they made a good decision on that. I'm all for fewer weapons and more weapon mods though.

FWIW: I thought fire arrows were OP. I could slam those into anything and kill it when I couldn't find a good option in my inventory. I always made sure that I had tons of fire arrows.

HMMM...I wonder if the new area is going to link up to the area near the Grave Hoard that I mentioned above. This DLC is obviously going to be about the Banuk and you can see a Banuk statue off in that area which seems to be unreachable.
