horrible cell reception in house

As the title states, my cell reception is horrible in my house. 2 bars if im lucky and all the planets align, and thats if im by a window. anywhere else, nothing. Contract is with AT&T. cell reception outside is decent. not great, but usable. Is there anything i can get to boost my reception in my house? I'm on call for work quite a bit and a lot of the times i only know they have called when i see i have a new voicemail. no missed call or anything. ugh. so i need something to boost my signal if possible.

Microcell. I think AT&T charges you by default, but you might try demanding one from CS for their crappy indoor service.

I'd personally port to GV and have it forward to something in your house (real landline, VOIP landline, Google Chat, whatever), but a microcell will do the exact job you want.

EDIT: wait, maybe forget CS in getting a free one. Looks like the Executive Response Team at the office of the (AT&T) President is the way to go.

Search Craigslist for a microcell. I snagged one for $40 and my life is much better. It still sucks that I had to pay extra money to basically enable a service that I'm already paying for.

I don't know what phone your using but with my note 2 inside my basement I get bad signal. If you go to mobile networks then change the network type to 2g I get way better signal, I use wifi in the house so I don't need the 4g to do anything and it takes me from 1 bar to 3. Checking the dBm in the settings after I switch to 2g I get 20dbm better signal that way.

If alternative routes aren't perking your interests, you can always get a signal booster installed. If it's for work, maybe they can help compensate for something here. Is reception good outside your house? Or at least 2-3 bars?

Don't chince when it comes to getting a signal booster. Something like this would be the best idea without going overboard.

Microcell is best for the purpose, if low signals makes your business suffer then investing some bucks in Microcell looks a better deal.

ATT Microcell .. in our previous place, i lodged a few complaints about service and within a few weeks, we got a letter saying we were eligible for a free microcell and to visit a ATT Store to pick it up.

Worked great, no fees, no cost. We moved a year later, so the microcell is sitting in my box of hardware junk.
