I am about to signup, but I was wondering does it require you to renew the domain and hosting every year? Or can you signup for 1 year and then have everything terminated after that year?

Dang just found out you can have a proxy setup on their servers. Guess I'll look for another similar deal.

I did this last year.

It might be worth it for the domains, but the hosting is terrible. The hosting software interface is horrible, and as pointed out above connection latency isn't very good.

They just upgraded

NEW! Hosting Account Upgrades - 2007-01-22 14:36:22

Great news - our two most popular hosting plans are now bigger than ever! Netfirms ADVANTAGE now includes 100GB of disk space (a 500% increase!), and Netfirms BUSINESS now includes 150GB of disk space (a 375% increase!).

If you already own one of these two plans, your account has been upgraded automatically for free. You'll immediately see the change in your Control Panel.

If don't yet have one, but have been thinking about upgrading, now is the perfect time! Simply click on the Upgrade link on your Control Panel home page.

The Internet is continually becoming more media-rich, and more important to our professional and personal lives. That's why at Netfirms we're always making sure you have the resources you need to create the best possible website. These latest upgrades reflect that commitment to your success on the web.

$10 for the first year and then $119.40/year after that... Gonna suck for people who actually want to keep their domain(s)... I think I am going to pass on it and keep my free 10GB website

Just pumped 175GB of bandwidth from this offer, still going strong so it looks like they are good to their 750Gb a month xfer =P

(Most my other hosts would cap me at 100GB if I had 150 or something)

Could one sign up for a new account for $10/year again and import their current domain to the new account? It kind of looks like that would work...

I started a new account and imported my old domain name to it. I also had to renew my domain for a year for $10, but it's still a good deal.

After a year with NetFirms, I moved over to the Surpass deal to get a taste of something new and to see if Surpass is faster than NetFirms. So far I like the Surpass interface a lot more than what NetFirms offers, and I'm glad that I've checked out something new.

My problem is that I can't figure out how to cancel my NetFirms renewal. They've been good enough to send me an email to notify me that they'll be automatically renewing me two weeks from now, and they even have a place in the account interface where I can manually renew myself. Why is there no information or option to NOT automatically renew??!

I guess I'll need to call them on Monday.

To whom and how much do you have to pay .. ( to keep your domain )

This deal is great if you don't need hosting beyond a year, otherwise there are lots of
inexpensive hosting sites out there with a lot more ..

I like HostMonster ..

Anybody know how to move the netfirms picture pro photo gallery....to another host, or a new netfirms a/c?
My a/c expires soon....

The way the gallery works..is that it puts photos in its own random folders....so it might be hard to transfer/import it.

What hosting service seems the bets these days?...once I can stick with, for a decent price...without the hassle of moving my gallery around.

Would appreciate any tips
