Okay, so I went to my local BB that?s in the area in which I live, but I?m not gonna to say where that area is because it?s a big secret and I don?t want anyone else to know so that they can also waste their time going to the Madison Hgts, MI store (DOH!). Anyway, there were no drives on the shelf, (big surprise), so I asked the friendly sales droid if they had any WD 120GB drives in stock. He asked me "Are you trying to price match?". I get the feeling that this is not going to go well. I said "Yes". He said that MC is out of stock and he could not sell me one. He also said that WD would not honor the rebate anyway since the final price would be less than $50 after rebate. I asked "Do you have any in stock?" He said that they had one left behind the counter, (could it be that he was saving the last one for himself?). Anyway, I said to myself "FI" and left the Madison Hgts, MI BB store (DDOOOOOHHHH!).
Ahh crap. Since that is the ONLY MC in MI, that sux it's OOS. Well, that saves me the trouble of running out to MH to get an ad. Maybe I'll get lucky and try OM since the "droids" there are seemingly more useless than than BB.

Man, you guys keep talking about the right side of the yellow slip. There is NOTHING on the right side of my yellow slip. The girl just filled in the left side with my name, address and listed the drive, original price, and the price after the PM. It was never printed on by the register. I hope I'm not hosed...
If you got rebate receipts, just send them in with the rebate as your receipt, that's what they're for.

According to my rebate forms, the capacity label from the front of the box goes to Young America for the $100 rebate, and the UPC from the box goes to Calais ME for the $20 rebate.

It's actually quite a bit more than $50 difference because I don't see a CC rebate for this drive. You'd only be getting it for the $149 PM as far as I can see and that's quite a bit more than $29 + tax after rebates.Circuit City has the drive for 199.99, if you can't get the Microcenter PM. 50 bucks more... not so hot, but still good.

Got the pricematch and then when the rebate reciept printed out, the cashier looked surpirsed and looked it up and then said he couldn't give me the rebate receipt (I have the form and also the original register receipt, the one I signed for credit card.)
Is there anything preventing me from still getting the rebate? It just says to include a copy of the reciept, and I have one of those. It goes to Miami Florida, and is handled by rebateshq.com.
I'm going to return it if, A: I can do the pricematch at Best Buy, or B: Someone can't tell me with good reason why I will not get the $100 from OfficeMax just because the cashier kept the dinky little extra rebate receipt copy.
The only thing he could do is give it to his manager who may have the power to prevent a rebate for a receipt with my transaction number. Hmm... Any responses are appreciated.
It's all part of the same label. The drive capacity label is the part that faces the front of the box, then there is a line and then a white part with the UPC that is on the bottom of the box. Cut along that line (which should fall on or near the box edge going from the front of the box to the bottom of the box). This part I know. The question, however, is which barcode is the upc: a) the one by itself on the bottom of the box (white sticker), or b) the one on the bottom of the capacity label (part of a larger yellow and white sticker).

They handed me two receipts. One was a regular and the other was this little receipt that said "REBATE RECEIPT" that had my purchase information related to the drive on there. Now the actually rebate does not mention having to insert the rebate receipt. So my question is, do you always include that and a copy of the main receipt with your OfficeMax rebate??? This is a big rebate so I don't want to F__K it up.....Anyone please help because I have never bought stuff from OfficeMax.....

They wouldn't give me the rebate slips from the register. I printed them from the website. But both forms I printed ask for a copy of the receipt so that's what I'm sending. It just sucks that the receipt states "WITH MATCH COMPETITOR PRICE" on it. I'm hoping that doesn't kill the rebate...
Okay, this question is for everyone who has done an OfficeMax Rebate....
I did the OfficeMax deal since all the Best Buys in LA County and Orange County California are out of this drive. Umm... what I meant was, get Best Buy to pricematch Circuit City, which should a slightly more recognized chain than one that only has 19 stores in the whole country. Thus, you could get the 199.99 pricematch and 120 in rebates = 79.99, if the problem is that the manager has never heard of Microcenter and refuses to pricematch it for THAT reason, k?
nope..no online submissionOriginally posted by: OJEDAWC
