I've dealt with no-name laptops before, and they've always sucked. I wouldn't touch this deal with a 10-foot pole. Even if this laptop does everything the ad says it will do, what happens if the company folds in three months? It's one thing to buy a clone desktop and have to swap out a mobo or something, but imagine having to do the same on a laptop with no support... ugh...

Just my 2 cents.

Buying a no-name laptop is the worst thing that you can do.
You don't know if you're gonna get support the next week or even the next day.

Beside there are so many scammers out there these days, I wouldn't buy any thing of value unless its from a reputable company.

The P4-Mobile is not going to be released until around March 02. There a lot of notebooks with the desktop P4 chip because of its smaller size (13 vs 18 chip process). Unfortunately, Intel does not warranty P4 in a notebook nor do they garantee full functionality of these notebooks.

Actually, correct me if I'm wrong but if the p4 overheats it'll throttle itself.
I'm assuming this means that while it won't crash, it won't run at 2ghz very much, unless your running it outside in freezing weather.

i dont think this would be too bad heat wise. cant be much worse than a athlon 4 1.3 ghz, especially since this is .13 micron and the a4 is .18.

Don't buy from these guys. I made the mistake of doing so last year. The computer I got had a fundamental design flaw. It was impossible to sufficiently cool the non-mobile P3 that was in the notebook I got.

Dalgin:

You are a very confused person who doesn't know much about microelectronic fabrication techniques or sound investment strategies..

<because of the intel's current technology, they can not cut the silicon thinner than .3 mivron.>
Not true. The current Intel process has a critical dimension of 0.13um.

<but on the other hand, AMD has the copper proccessor technology which makes it possible to cut the silicon less than .3 micron.>
Not true. Copper process technology has nothing to do with the critical dimensions. Also, Intel's 0.13um process HAS copper technology. Furthermore, AMD's current process is 0.13um (same as Intel). And finally, Intel has been running their 0.13um process longer than AMD and have the upper hand in experience.

<AMD will come out with their mobile 2.GHZ proc. and that will be the time that intel will go down and AMD will take at least 50 percent of the PC market.>
You are on drugs. The majority of laptop sales come from corporate buyers. Corporate IT buys Intel.

<buy AMD stocks guys.
it will make fortune next year>
I hope you're not a financial consultant.

How do you put a P4 desktop cpu into a laptop?! Don't you need a desktop based mobo that supports the desktop CPU socket? Or do they put a desktop P4 into a laptop mobo?
