I poked around a bit, and they are pretty damn expensive.
That 20.00 off and free shipping brings the intellimaouse explorer way down to 56.00.....

There may be a deal or two in there on rebates, but this seems to be another mark up-to discount deals...

Good if ya need a joystick or two though.

The SideWinder Precision 2 is only $30 (Mats: that's $10 cheaper than the lowest elsewhere, and with free 2-day shipping. I'd say that's pretty good.)

Crimson skies is $29, also cheapest you can get. Mech4 at $29 is a great deal... I'm aware of the ebworld deal also for $29, with a $10 gift card for future purchase, but you ahve to pay shipping with them.

I have not able to place the order for the keyboard w/ wheel mouse. I called the sale representative and he told me that that is for holiday shopping site and maybe that might be a reason why I can't go through. Has anyone tried and sucessfully ordered it?

Ok..I did the Keyboard and wheel mouse deal..1st time it would only give me $10 off...so I shut down my browser and restarted it and voila..it gave me the $25 off...that is weird...Now if my assumptions are right I will get a $20 MIR that is included on the box...Right??

Never mind, I guess they have to come in the box as there is no place to print them from. That's crap.

Anyone know if the keyboard in the combo is the one with the weird key layout that makes it hard for gaming? I heard there was one MS keyboard(and I thought it was the elite) that had a key layout that made it annoying for first person shooters.

Microsoft rebate coupons are usually sealed in the box, I would be surprised to see if the online discount would void the MIR.

That's true. On Natural Keyboard Elite the arrow keys are arranged in a "+" shape instead of a "T" shape. That could cause you a problem if you play UT, but not Q3(using "WASD" control), on the other hand, you can alwasy remap the control keys in most of the FPS games.

So far, it remains unclear whether the rebates will work or not. We have someone who says they called a CSR today and was told they would. We have someone else who bought something last month and was told he couldn't get the rebate. Bottom line: You're taking a chance.

After multiple tries, I was finally able to get the MS Sidewinder Freestyle Pro with the $25.00 off. I still don't know what made it finally work. That was about three hours ago and I still don't have an email confirmation. It that normal? I called customer service and the csr said to wait till morning and check back. Everyone else I order from on the net, I get an email confirm within minutes.

all microsoft rebates i have seen all say something like "cannot be used in conjuction with purchases from the microsoft store. your total when purchasing from the microsoft store reflects the rebate discount." just a heads up. you should be able to see the rebates on the website at microsoft.com somewhere, should have it on there.

i just recently got a natural keyboard from buy.con.
it's basically the same one as the combo; however, there is no rebate form on it.
since rebate ends 12/31/00, maybe they don't even bother to put int rebate form for those newly manufactured.
i'm still looking around a rebate form.

You can call microsoft and they will tell you how to write the info on a card instead of the rebate form to get the rebate (the detail is in a thread months ago here)
