Is this promotion working for anyone else? When I return to the site using the gift2 link, all I get is a spot to enter my order number. I tried using different IP address, removing cookies, using a different machine. No go.

Did they remove this deal, and now you can only get it if you have a coupon from the previous order? (I did place an order, but haven't received it)

They've just added a gateway page. I realized, after I got my order, that this promotion was ONLY for people who had previously placed an order at shop.microsoft. (My order came with a link to the "secret" URL). Not, apparently, they are requiring you to enter your previous order # in order to use the deal.

(In case there's any confusion: The "secret" URL I'm referring to is the gift2.html address we all know... I was just saying how apparently it was something you were only supposed to find out after you placed an order.)

You could certainly get the combo anywhere else and use the $20 off, but this is with the $25 off and free shipping.

Yikes! I just tried what Netma suggested by advancing to the credit card info screen. I must have hit one button too many and was charged $56 for an Internet Keyboard and an Optical Wheel mouse. I'll have to call them and cancel the order when I get the confirmation e-mail. They only wanted to give me $10 off.

Shop Microsoft got smart because everyone was using the $25.00 off $50.00 for their first purchase. They intended it to be a reward to be used on the second purchase. Now to get the $25.00 off you have to have a previous order number. If you have already used the $25.00 off once, the order screen won't allow you to do it again. That happened to me yesterday. So I called customer service, told the csr that their internet site wouldn't allow my $25.00 off credit. So she did it manually and gave me $25.00 off my purchase. She did however verify my previous order number.

Bottom line. I got the $25.00 off on two separate purchases.

The $20.00 rebate coupons are not in the boxes. You have two choices. Either go to a retailer like Compusa and get one off their rebate board or else call customer service. They will give you the correct info to put on a 3x5 card to send in for the rebate
