I also got mine this evening. I had problems with the headphones initially, but once I plugged them in all the way, they worked much better. Of course, my Sony headphones also worked a whole lot better without any wriggling the connector in the jack. The FM tuner works much better than I expected. I'm also getting a kick out of the sample tracks (Citronella is an amusing track IMO) on the player.
Anyhow, my quick and dirty assessment (after one evening of use):
Pros:
-Small (really small!)
-Comes with a belt clip carrier and armband
-Case feels pretty sturdy despite being plastic.
-Sound is decent (I think it sounds great, but I'm not an audiophile)
-FM tuner works well, especially considering the size of the unit
-Backlit LCD screen is quite readable (at least in indoor lightling, haven't tried daylight yet)
-Can sort songs by genre, artist, album
The OKs:
-Controls are workable. Neither horrible or fabulous. The only thing I couldn't figure out was the menu button (how the heck are three lines supposed to make me think "menu"?).
-The styling is average. It won't turn any heads, but that's fine by me. Let potential thieves have their eyes caught by flashier looking players.
-The volume doesn't go super high. Good for those of us who'd like to keep our hearing. Not so good for really noisy environments. Mind you, it's uncomfortable for my ears at max volume, so it's not super quiet.
-Included headphones are pretty mediocre. Workable, but you might want to use different ones.
Cons:
-Some long artist/album names get truncated on the display. Only the song title scrolls.
-Battery life. I haven't had the unit long enough to draw definite conclusions, but I read a review where they claimed a short battery life. I've had the unit on for about 1.5 hours, and the battery meter is 25% down. I wouldn't expect much beyond 6-8 hours of battery life (but that's ok, I'll use rechargeables).
-Buttons have cheap plasticy feel
-Headphone jack is a little wonky with the included headphones. May require replugging the phones to get sound with the include headphones.
