I just received this email from Mushking............read it and weep:

I believe all of the Mushkin 256mb PC2100 DDR modules that are
available through Outpost feature a CAS latency of 2.5, 3 3 and
are not the 256mb PC2100 high Perf DDR modules that are offered
on our website. These modules actually compare more with the
256mb PC2100 DDR Special modules which are described as having a
better quality chip than our Mushkin Basic modules.

btw, I sent them another email asking if this ram is compatible with a Tyan dual AMD mobo - which I asked in my first email. I will post that response when I get an answer.

This stuff is running great on my Epox 8kha+. I guess it is a different story with the Tyans.

Currently running with Turbo settings, Cas 2, and all of the aggressive settings. Working without any problems..

I have not overclocked the CPU yet, so don't know how high it will go..

BTw, I have the 512MB "cool" mushkin ram

I have benchmarked the ram I have received today...
My system
Abit KR7A-RAID
Mushkin 256mb (the ram i got from this deal)
Maxtor D740x X2 running in Raid0
ATI Radeon DDR 64mb (OEM)
Sblive audigy
netgear lan 10/100
firewire card

All of these benchmarks are ran at most agressive setting under KR7A (ie. cas2, interleave 4bank, 1t command)

is that with sisoft 2002??? I think you may be using an older version... the new 2002 version should give higher benchmarks..

WOOO-HOOOO!!! I guess I'll bring this post back from the dead to say I'm HOPEFULLY finally getting the two I ordered to ship the same day near Jan 3rd second day air. My order was swallowed up by their system after sending me multiple emails confirming I had ordered it, and it had been backordered. After a month of talking and emailing with several BONEHEADED CSR's at outpost, hopefully this last one will get it right. I purhcased the 2 I needed from another company, but I decided to push the matter on these to get them in after they have now gone up to $94.xx on outpost's site. I can't speak well of their service, but I can't complain too much if these turn out to be good sticks of memory with prices continuing to go up.

Received them this time. They seem to be as good or BETTER than the crucial pc2100.
