A good price, but "Micron chip" does not necessarily mean Micron memory. If it was real Micron they'd say that it was real Micron. This is probably Micron chips on a 3rd party generic PCB, so you have no idea of the quality or performance. Buyer beware, it might be worth an email or phone call before ordering to check on who really makes this.

ok.. I emailed their tech support and got this response:

"Most of them are made by third party manufacturer using Micron chips."

I order from cnet all the time they are the next state over and have always shipped to me withing 24hours. I havent had a problem in the 8 order that i received from them.

If you check you will find their samsung pc2700 is cheap too.ddr333

OMG!.. couldn't cancel my order and LO and BEHOLD I just got my three sticks and they're from CRUCIAL!...got the Micron and Crucial stickers on them... the model number is CT3264Z265 which matches exactly with the one's found here!.. got them for $34 plus $21 S/H which comes out to $41/stick which is awesome for crucial sticks!... I can't beleive it.. thanks pmoa for the post....

The company i work at just purchased about 80 computers with 1 GB of DDR. Most of them are used by secretaries and administrators who use internet, email and office! You gotta get more than those people!!!

All "Micron memory" is generic. The only retail memory made by Micron is Crucial, a subdivision of Micron. If it says Micron, its generic with Micron chips, as Micron only does two things with its chips -- sells them to 3rd parties or makes Crucial sticks with them. If a stick is labelled as "Micron", the maker is not Micron and clearly doesn't even want to bother giving you their name. GymcShoe is incredibly lucky to have gotten real Crucial. Otherwise, stay away.

I think you should win a price for saying the word 'Micron' more in one post than anyone else in this history of the forum.

Nothing is that simple. Only about 10-25% of Micron chips go to "noname" PCB manufacturers, in times like now with low prices more, in times with high prices less. The rest is going to "big names." Crucial is not the only one. Corsair makes memory with Micron chips among others, in fact perhaps better memory than Crucial. So it is more likely you'll get good memory unless you run into some lousy business. I would be more careful about the evaluations this company has, they are not very good.
