You picked a good cam. Some people don't like the fact that Sony uses memory sticks which can be expensive.

buy the sony.

sony ranks #2 right behind cannon in consumer reports list of least repair issues. they make great digi-cams.

Working retail over the summer, a lot of people would pick up Kodak cameras over my recommendations of Canon/Sony and guess what? A lot of them came back and picked up the Canon/Sony a week later.

Kodak digicams are a pain in the neck.

I wouldn't go as far as saying they're a pain in the neck. I would say that they don't seem to have as many user adjustable settings as other cams. They tend to be more of a "point and shoot" camera.

Well I have a raincheck if anyone wants to use it. I tried to get the Nikon 5mp but they only sell it on the website, it would have been a hot deal. Its 899, but on sale for 799 with a 150 dollar rebate, and I was going to use the raincheck.

So 535.33 after the raincheck, and 385.33 after the 150 rebate. I figured that'd be a good deal. Save 513.67 oh well they won't stock it.

Technically, yes

What I meant was Kodak cams (since that's the one you seem to be comparing the Sony to) don't have as many settings/effects as other digicams. For instance, with the Sony you can adjust the white balance whereas the Kodak, you can't. Sony has burst mode (16 - 320x240 frames recorded as parts of a single 1280x960 JPEG at 1/7.5, 1/15, 1/30 sec. selectable intervals), Kodak doesn't. Sony has 4 image effects (Sepia, Black and White, Negative Art, Solarize), Kodak doesn't appear to have this feature.

It all comes down to what you want in a digicam.

The deal is not DEAD! It's valid till 4/15/204! Either get a Vvitar or a substitute. I had a conversation with the manager today - ANY digital camera will do!
Be nice, polite nd ask them to show you in print where it says a particular model. It says TV for TV, doll for doll etc. It means camera for camera as long as they don't have the Vivitar one. The sales guy tried to tell me - similar savings, but the manager corrected him - ANY camera.
