If you want a simple setup and only have one sub and are hooking it up to stock speakers (or aftermarket for that reason), the 2150 is your best bet, It has what s called TriBand setup which allows for one sub to set up on one channel and the other channel to occupy your speakers. So yeah....EL2150....

I just bridged this sub to my Phoenix Gold zx600, and it held for about 5 minutes at mid volume.

Sound quality was decent, not as firm (but equally as loud) as my JLs, and awesome for the price. Not a 1500w amp, but def. one of the better ones out there.

I too would like to see the 1500w amp review!

2150 is 2 channels each 150 watts at I think 4 ohms
2100 is 2 channels each 100 watts at I think 4 ohms

In other words, what Mike is trying to say, is to get the 2150 if you can if you wanna push maximum wattage . Don't worry guys, I'll get this amp and sub working if it kills me. I might not be installing it in my car just yet, but what I plan to do is test it out on a friend's system just by replacing the amp with his. He's got 2 12" JL's, about all I know lol. I'll also make sure he gives me his most decent and unbiased opinion about it . Since I'm going to build a box too, I"ll also try to give a review about the subs.

ok yeah...so now im thinking about what you said earlier...

How's it possible?
Here's the specs of the EL2150 from the Bazooka website...

Power @ 4 OHM 150 x 2
Power @ 2 OHM 300 x 2

Since the power at 4ohm is 150x2 and the CSW1204 is 4ohms......so...is there way to power the sub @ 2ohms? what should i do?

from manual:

EL2150

160x2 @ 4 ohm
230x2 @ 2 ohm
460x1 @ 4 ohm bridged

When you bridge the amp like you do with subwoofers, the amp is actually seeing half the impedance that is hooked up because of the wiring. That is why the amp is rated at 2 ohms for stereo, but 4 ohms for bridged.

So if you only have one sub, you can hook it up bridged, and the amp would see a 2 ohm load. If you have two subs, your options are putting the subs in parallel which would be 2 ohms bridged which could damage the amp if it is not regulated properly, or in series for 8 ohms which would work fine, but would only draw ~ 320 watts bridged.

Anyone got a good site to explain the differences about ohm's and whatnot?

Great Deal.

Just recieved my 2 twelve's subwoofers and a 1500EL.

The 2 subs were in perfect condition in my opinion. One of the box was wrapped very tightly in bubble wrap, while the other was just in a paper bag type package.

The AMP had barely any scratches, and all the supplies were there.
very satisfied.

I was wondering what "wiring in parallel" means?
Since i want to wire two of the subs to the 1500AMP.

btw, cant wait to see what FiLeZz does with all those subs

The amplifier is capable of running in a Mono / Stereo mode. This feature gives the
amplifier the ability to run stereo satellites (midbass & tweeter) simultaneously with
a mono subwoofer.
These connections are more complicated because they require the use of passive
crossover networks (Not provided) to divide the frequencies to the speakers. We
have included a sample diagram for 4 Ohm connections. If you wish to use multiple
speakers to achieve a lower impedance and higher power, it is strongly
recommended that you seek professional advice from your BAZOOKA retailer
before attempting to make these connections.
Please Note: In the Tri-mode configuration, the amplifier?s built-in crossover must
be set to the ?FLAT? position so the speakers receive full range output.
CAUTION! In Tri- mode operation, the amplifier must see a 2 Ohm load or higher for
the stereo satellites and no lower than 4 Ohms for the subwoofer(s). Any lower than the
above mentioned impedance will cause the amplifier to overheat and possibly cause
permanent damage to the amplifier.

There have been alot of questions about how to design a box for the Bazooka 12" sub. What kind of box, how big, Ported or sealed...

Well, I have been working with FileZz designing his home theater. I have been doing this for a long time, and I have to tell you these are really some pretty good speakers. They really are worth $100-$150 each. They are not the most efficient, and they can't handle the most power but, for $15, you can't hardly go wrong.

In order to answer all of your questions, I have put together a web page about the whole design process. I explain alot of stuff in detail; Sealed Box, vs Vented Box, 4th Order Bandpass vs 6th Order Bandpass. I show you how to make these speakers go flat to 20Hz. It should answer alot of your questions.

Hopefully, soon we will have under construction pictures of FileZz's Home Theater, and his 32 subs. Yes... He really did buy 32.

Check it out at http://168.28.245.109/filez/

Anybody get the 100th customer free deal yet?

I just can't stay away from this site, just looked and they had ONE of the CS8A5 units back in stock for $89, with harnesses except for power, so I grabbed it. This is the unit with a 5 channel amp and crossovers builtin, just run a cable up to your head unit connection to the OEM speakers, one socket to head unit, other socket to speakers. The 4 OEM speakers get 25 wps and the 8" sub in the tube gets 100 watts.

I didn't get one, but they also had a few Pioneer head units for less than $100.

Parallel means the Amp+ goes to speaker1+ and speaker2+, Amp- goes to speaker1- and speaker2-.
Series means the Amp+ goes to speaker1+, and speaker1- goes to speaker2+, and speaker2- goes to amp-.

A couple good sites are listed earlier in the thread.

GengisTom,

what parameters did you enter to get the optimal response for a 6th order bandpass with only one sub? WinISD can't calculate the parameters on its own for 6th order apparently. I had tried this program a few days ago but the results didnt look right at all. I had forgotten to change the units like you mentioned on that page. Thanks for the info.

Sorry about not answering, someone already described it, but what I meant to say was Tri-Way, and this (like tigerbait noted) just makes a more siplified setup. Nothing really to it. I'm sorry I can't help much, I'm sorta in a learn-as-I-go kind of situation and really should keep my mouth shut since I can't back up what I say even though what I say is true lol. But wow! GengisTom! OMG! Thank you so very much! This should help me lean so much about everything! In any case, when do you guys plan to start tis daunting task? Sounds mighty involved. GL!

Nope, No credits back that I know off, plus according to them, they just credit your account abck after they charge you lol. So I know one of us got in, but we shall see who it is! Anywho, I went to search for this CS8A5 thingy-ma-jigger, but it wasn't there anymore . Was just wondering what that is exactly? An amplifier? Also btw, do any of you recommend a capacitor with a simple 2 12" with 1500 and 460 setup? Just curious on opinions. None of my friends run caps, when are they usually used with audio systems?

EDIT: Nm, lol a simple search in the crutch answered my base tube woes . Looks pretty nice man. Seems like something for a quick throw tegother.

I'm actually pondering purchasing another 1500...I got 4 12" to play with and I wanna see if I can wire them all in parellel in my car. Lol the only thing holding me back is power and trunk space. Not in that order.

Yes Tom, I still can't believe what you were able to get these speakers to do with the correct box!!!

And to all the naysayers, Filezz does have 32, I have seen them and looked at the box they are building.

TigerBait, and all you others who might be interested, I have put together yet another page at http://168.28.245.109/filez/1Bazooka.htm that shows all the appropriate design parameters, and graphs for desinging a 6th Order Bandpass Box for only one Bazooka CSW-1204 sub.

In addition, the long awaited photos of FileZz's Home theater construction project, and oictures of all 32 subs can now be seen at http://168.28.245.109/filez/

Hope this adaquately answers you questions.
