it's like one side of archetype without the removable rubber base. it's thinner and only have 1 roughness instead of 2 like archetype which you can flip.
also hugs the desk surface better because it's more flexible, but that can either help or hurt the pad.
for the GS, i think 1-2yr lifespan is acceptable for a $10 mousepad. at least when you replace it you will have a brand new pad instead of having the same old dirty pad for years for more expensive ones.
yes, less noticeable but it does get shiny. imo archetype lets u try out what kind of roughness you would like to stick to and then you can go for the F serie to get a bigger, thinner pad.
