Hot! Acer 10x8x32 for $70 after coupon/mir rebate

I understand that Acer only recently started making their own drives, Acer CDRW 6x and less are rebadged. The new Acer CDRWs haven't been out long enough to judge their reliability. Acer (Aopen) CDROMs are decent but not as good as Teac or Toshiba. The 8x and 10x burners are not burnproof. They come with 2, 4, or 8meg buffer. There is a new 12x burner (Acer or Aopen?) with some type of buffer underrun technology like burnproof, but I don't think it's widely available yet.

I just got one at the W.L.A. Staples. At first the coupon didn't work, but the manager came over and just knocked $25 off. They don't seem too concerned with doing what ever it takes to get you out of the check out line. There were quite a few still on the shelf, there. Thanks for the post. $74.97 will suit me just fine for 10X 8X 32X and I've had excellent service from the old Acers; hope making their own is as good.

Got mine from Staples today. I brought in the $25 coupon that was printed, but also brought the $30 coupon number just in case. They took the $30 coupons no questions asked.

Great deal! I already installed, works great. It comes with Adaptec EZCD/Direct CD 4.0e Standard Ed.

I also made them price match the Office Depot $19.99 Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical mouse.

I had very good luck with acer. I have sony(12x8x32x) and iomega(8x4x24x) now but i hate them man they suck. In my old system i had 8x4x24x and i dont think i had 1 toast IT WAS 8MEG BUFFER too. These sony cdrw's suck.

I LOVE THIS ACER I AM BURNIGN AT 10X NO PROBLEM with my sony burnign at 8x was giving me problem.

It is not Burn Proof, and probably not good as CloneCD drive.
My assumption is that they offer this rebate because they also have a 12x8x32 unit.

It is an Awesome deal for general backup, and normal burning.

Just got back from Staples. Picked one up and my friend got the last one. Came out to be $129.84
with the $30 coupon code. Hope I'll get the $50 rebate. Anyone know how good Acer is about rebates? Anyways, I'm going to try and see how good this drive is in a couple of minutes.

Hey everyone, I have the Acer 10x4x32 since Christmas and it seems to work fine. It can be fussy with cds and it only likes 1 out of 2 PNY CDRS I use with it. This is strange so I think somethings up with the cds. This thing loves imations cds and burns fast. I got mine for $80 at BB B&M the day after thanksgiving.

staples sucks, I called them after they closed last night and asked if they had any more of the burners, they said yes, and so I showed up when they opened. Then the manager told me they didn't have any at all. What kind of lying sacks of crap are they?

formulav8, thanks for the info! For less than a $100 this is a steal...and I needed something for divx movies. I have the luxury of having 2 staples within 15min of me. The first was all out, the 2nd I grabbed the last (as far as I could tell).

ps...don't call your local staples to find "we have 1....ummm nevermind we're all out". That "phone first" sh!t doesn't apply here, or the employee that picks up the phone will be getting the hot deal .

Also, the staples store that was sold out had an advertised sticker right by it, the other store with one left had nothing indicating it.

Go to www.staplesrebates.com and see the fine print under Promotion Details. It says $50 rebate offer on this drive "not good with any other rebates, offers, promotions". Does this mean we can't use the $25 or $30 off coupons?????

No, that disclaimer excludes coupons. I've used coupons with staples orders in the past and have still received the rebate award.
