I got the very last 5900pv which is the same card but slightly differently clocked. The pv came with a laptop case and Is a very nice card. This is basically the same and is not a SE card with the slow ram. Seems like a pretty good price to me for a non SE card.

No. I ordered the XFX 5900 at buy.com over a little over a month ago and it comes with 2.2ns memory and runs at the regular 5900 non-Ultra memory speed: 850MHz. No video in, but $146AR shipped is pretty hot. When I ordered it, I got it for $158AR/AC shipped. I only know of 2 cards that have slow (2.8ns) memory: the Gainward FX 5900 "ultra" 1100 (not an ultra and memory rated @ 714MHz) and the LeadTek 5900 "LX" model. No other cards have slow memory.

The memory on it overclocks pretty well, too. My cheesy 9800 non-pro (lame infineon 3.0ns chips) can barely get a 30MHz overclock (290MHz DDR -> 320MHz DDR), but my XFX 5900 overclocks an extra 50MHz (425MHz DDR -> 475MHz DDR). The 5200 Plus I bought last week (4ns Samsung) overclocks to from 250MHz DDR default to 320MHz DDR.

I think XFX have changed the design of thier non ultra 5900 to SE specifications. Several NewEgg buyers all have recieved the card with slower ram and a different heatsink design. Though all SE models comes with lower latency ram compares to the regular 5900. A recent firingsquad review of a SE model suggested that the SE models performs on par with non ultra 5900s.

The XFX 5900 (not 5900 SE, not 5900 XT) "Mfg Part#: PV-T35K-NA" is the exact same one I bought last month with 2.2ns memory. I don't see $60 in rebates form available on the XFX 5900 page, but the form I sent in last month is good for purchases through 12/20/03. Awesome deal. I wish I had seen the price drop a few days ago so I could have tried to call in and get a price adjustment.

Edit: the above poster is right. It does look like the card is a 5900 XT now from the December newegg reviews (400/700). Last month it was a full 5900. Stupid XFX should have at least changed the part#.

I'm tempted to pick up this one for $225 shipped, EVGA FX 5900 NU, with 400/850 stock, some of the comments are reporting over clocking to 5950+ speeds. Only having 128MB is the only thing holding me back from getting a 5900NU...

btw. as stated above this is no longer the XFX with 2.2 ns ram, they are now shipping the crappy 2.8ns at newegg. we're betting buy.com is shipping the same...

That's the same rebate I sent in last month. I think there's still a valid $15 off $250 code for new customers available to get a better deal (add $40.xx+ like the Veo Disney webcam which is around $4 AR).
