I will laugh in the faces of the doomsayers until they are proven right. I remember with glee the Dell Radeon 8500 deal from October. The same doomers were saying the same thing: Pricing error. They can't possibly have enough of them. They aren't retail, they're OEM. They're refurbs. They're made with substandard components. They aren't really ATI, they're third party. You'll never get them. I'm cancelling my order because Dell is sh!t. I'm cancelling my order because I have to wait too long. I'm cancelling my order because the drivers are no good. I'm a child of the present and crave instant gratification and if I can't have the immediately I refuse to take them (it, sorry). You're only going to get a discount certificate. Dell is going to charge your CC and never ship the card.
Geez. I don't know if everybody got their 8500, but I got mine and so did a lot of other people. This could easily be an end of year inventory clearance, plus, even if Dell only breaks even it will look good on their bottom line for sales this year. Sales growth is what gets people to buy their stock, not profit. Just look at Amazing Amazon. They have never posted a profit but their yearly sales continue to climb and people keep buying their stock.
I ordered three sets at three separate times after clearing my cookies after each purchase so I would get free shipping on all of them. If they come, and I believe they will eventually (probably not y the Dec. 21 date they suggest), I will be a happy puppy and if they don't then no harm , no foul. It only cost me a few minutes of my time.
Edit: In reference to the posts about people buying bunches of these. I ordered three because 1 is going on my main rig and the other two I'm going to try to hook up to TVs. If I can get them to work off the TVs then I'll buy DVD players for both of them. Reselling them never crossed my mind. I'd like to see as many people as possible benefit from this hot deal.
