Hmmm...my friend ordered much later than me but for some reason his orders are "in production" and mine are still "processing". Also, choosing next day shipping instead of "lowest cost" apparently makes no difference in how quickly your order goes through. Whether this deal goes through or not, I think it's pretty clear that Dell's online order tracking is worthless.

That's not possible, because 8.2 would mean 8 discrete channels. Having 4 front speakers (2 left, and 2 right) is still only 2 discrete channels.

They didn't. They have one set that doesn't work. As soon as it is returned, they ship it to the next person. It does get them a lot of traffic on their site though.

That's a given. I've orderd plenty of items and often don't get an email notice when they shipped (yes, I did register them and had confirmation of registration). Often I have received items (5-7 days ground shipping) BEFORE I received the email notice that it had shipped and sometimes even before the status at the web site was updated.

The website was sort of doing this for me as well - when you put in your user id and password, and go to 'Order Status', it won't show your orders. But right below that it has a message that says something like "Can't see your order ? Type it in here" - something along those lines. You can enter your order number at that point, and it *WILL* show up. Not sure why it doesn' show up on the first screen though...

I used my HOME account to buy in small business. And I've got the confirmation with order numner.

RX8: i had a home account and ordered it from the small business side. i recieved 2 confirmation emails but nothin on the website... I'm about 400 miles away from that computer though so i cant enter the number into dell.com's website to check but it dosent show up on my order status.

used home account to order from business... got second email 3 hours after the first.

edit: my dosen't show up in order status either, I have to manually put the order # for it to show up.
