Btw, I called and a Dell CSR told me that people who ordered more than 1 set of speakers will have their orders cancelled. Others who ordered early will have a good chance of receiving them.

People justify their anger by claiming that Dell's customer service bites... not the fact that they didn't receive the speakers.

In reality, people get pissed 'cause their hopes are up and then (most of the time) reality hits. It's not a surprise that so many people are whining about a pricing mistake and spitting on Dell. We (humanity) is greedy by nature

If you hate Dell and/or their customer support, then don't do business with them.

pete777, I'd heard that their order inventory was so great that corporate customers of DELL were actually taking a seminar, hands on at DELL to learn what they were doing right. They made their reputation on double digit growth of revenues but I'm not certain their back office automation has kept up with their touted manufacturing. Can you imagine how many gizmo-systems comprise $35 billion (est) in 2001 revenues?

<< Just to make things a bit more confusing. I just got off the phone with a Dell rep. She said that at present it "looks like" my order (placed on 12/12) will be filled. She stated that it appeared that they had ordered more stock, and that it was for this reason that the estimated shipping date (12/21 for my order) was so many days after the order was actually placed. I asked whether or not she could confirm if I would receive my order. She could not.

All in all, it appears that the sales reps don't have a clue. I would have hoped that someone would have informed the sales reps (especially the Biz sales reps) about the situation so that they could better serve their clients. Just my two cents, but it seems that Dell's lack of attention borders on intentional neglect. A real shame.

First, I'm NOT greedy. I didn't order huge quantities of this for resale.

Second, because, if you read my post, you'll see that I not only ordered the speakers, but I also ordered 3 OTHER items that had nothing to do with the speakers and yet the entire ORDER they claim doesn't exist, yet their system sent me an acknowledgement listing all the items with the exact prices, shipping, coupons AND tax amounts calculated for me.

The other items (besides the speakers) I ordered were 1x of the USB network adaptor (~$ 8), 1x of the SB Live Digital refurb sound card (~$ 24) and 2x of the 85 cent network cards.

So, no "Huge quantity" orders here, no "Multiple" orders, just a simple flat order with 4 different items on it, one of which the speakers. And yet they saw fit to make the whole order "disappear". *THATS* why I'm pissed at them. If they wern't gonna give me the speakers, (or even NIC's) that's fine! But give me the other two items I ordered at the same time.

This is SOOO like an order from Staples... Place your order for what you want, fill your cart with filler to use a coupon, apply the coupon. Check back a day later, find that the FILLER has shipped (and they subsequently charged you shipping on the piece of junk item since it dropped you below $50), and there is no record of the original (wanted) item or coupon, and they refuse to deal with you saying you didn't look at your cart before you ordered to see an item was out of stock or something. Yeah right.

I spoke with a DELL CSR and he said "All you thieves can kiss my ASS! Michael Dell says you can kiss his ass TOO!"

But really, if you're mad about this in any way...then I guess GOOD! Maybe it'll ruin your whole day or week.

It's just ridiculous.

I ordered 2 on the 13th. If I get them Great...if I don't, oh well...on to the Next deal.

So, sometime by the end of this week (3 shopping days till Christmas!) I'm to receive an email saying that the speakers that I bought for a Christmas gift back on the 12th were really just a mistake/traffic inducer? And to make me feel better here is a 10% off coupon which is less than the 15% off that they had the day of the sale?

Boy, that's gonna go over like a beer fart in church.

Well, I got confirmation from UPS today on a shipment of 38 lbs to be here 12/24. It is the only thing I can think of weighing 38 lbs I bought so looks goooood!

FWIW, a CSR told me that they re-key orders from the web. The acknowledgement is sent by the web system, and the confirmation is sent by the "real" order system. If the piece of paper printed from the web side fell on the floor, there is no "real" order and no confirmation.

That's what he said, and I do not know the truth any more than any others here. i ordered 2 at 12:10pm on the 12th. Got Acknowledgement, didn't get conformation, web order status doesn't show the order.

Dell has the crappiest Customer Service! I have been on the Phone for over 1hr 20min with their customer service, and I'm still on the phone as I type now.

I have 2 messed up orders from Dell. One dissapeared totally, the other has a item missing and price jacked up. They dont know wtf they are talking about, nor do they want to understand. I have been transferred 4 diff. times. I'm getting really pissed. I have not started to loose my cool, but its slipping.

I will never do business with these people again. This is absolutely the worst service that I've ever recieved. Even Walmart's CS is better than this. If you ever have a problem with them you're in for a real rough ride. My advice is to get everyones name and Ext# that you talk to, so that you can complain.

I'm Whining! They have the most messed up phone system ever, anything to avoid talking to a customer. First you have to go through a gaunlet of menus and buttons to press to get were you need to go (in my case there was no specific menu), then you have to wait for prob. 20-30min. to talk to a person. If that was the wrong person you are put through it all over again.

Damn Dell! I just got off the phone, it took 1hr 39min, and I still have to call back. They only fixed one order, I have to call a Sandra at Ext.308751 about my Speakers (the order that dissapeared completely).

I'm gonna give them bad rating where ever I can, This is some crappy service. This is supposed to be a reputable company? BS!

Heres the deal........just got an email from dell stating that the order was canceled due to the item being discontinued...........how pissed I am .............especially when the speakers were listed as in stock, also I recieved a confirmation that they would be shipped before the 26th..........ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh:|

still estimated to ship by 12/21...

With so many people ordering these refurbs from this site alone, is it really hard to believe that your not going to get your set? everyone thinks someone owes them something for nothing and use the slightest excuses to set their reasoning.
